Riding my mare a couple of days during the week in return for poo picking and feeding / haying?

She is very well mannered and an uncomplicated ride. HOWEVER she was diagnosed with navicular at the beginning of this year. She is shod accordingly and has just finished her course of treatment. She has come completely sound - I am schooling as normal but am careful about trotting and cantering out on hacks depending on the ground. I have decided her jumping days are behind her so I would need someone who only wanted to school and hack calmly (no mad galloping / miles of trotting on roads etc). She might suit someone wanting to school and have lessons / work on low level dressage. There are good instructors available at the yard.

I work full time and have a long journey to the yard so need someone to help out during the week and see her during the daylight and poo pick the field. The field is shared with my friends mare and we share tasks on alternate days so the sharer would have to be ok potentially feeding / haying and poo picking for the two mares. They live out full time so no mucking out.

I could probably offer every other sat or sun once a fortnight or something as well if it was wanted. There is a big brand new school (soon to be flood-lit and mirrored) and miles of hacking available.

Do you think anyone would be interested given they couldn't jump and that I want someone during the working week or am I being overly optimistic? I have had (paying) sharers in the past but they have all jumped / hacked a lot / taken her to pc etc and I am now looking for someone a bit more sedate!

The cupboards are pretty empty but I can offer spaghetti bolognese and a cup of tea to anyone who helps ;)

If she is a safe hack you may well fine someone interested in taking her on. Lots of people cannot afford their own horses with the current climate but would still love to be involved with them. I think this could be a good opportunity for someone.

if she is quiet to hack i think someone who just wants to take it easy and plod around would love to share her :) just got to find them just advertise her as a happy hacker :)

Thanks both :)

She is a fab hacking horse, very good with traffic/ dogs / other horses etc. She isn't ploddy though - quite forward going and keen. Saying this she is very safe, just not boring!

Maybe I should pop an ad up at the local tack shop and see if anyone is interested.

Absolutely! I'd love to find someone like this near me (chances are that you aren't!). I'm sure you'll find someone willing to give you a hand with her.

So I've had an ad up on preloved for a bit and the only reply was from a teenager who has never ridden but would like to try and learn unsupervised on my horse!

Any suggestions for other places I should advertise?

Thanks all :D
