Some of you may have read about my car being a write-off after skidding on ice and ending up in a ditch, and I asked you for recommendations or to keep an eye out for me for a 4x4 to replace it - well, a client has phoned and told me he's selling his Daewoo and apparently "it will pull a tank". He said something about it being based on a Mercedes, no idea what he was talking about to be honest (and phone reception was bad) but that it was definitely a Daewoo. Anyone know what he may be referring to and what do you think of them? Would it be okay for daily towing of my catering trailer? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I used to have a Daewoo Musso and it was brilliant for towing. I don't know how big your catering trailer is, but I used to tow an Ifor Williams with two warmbloods in it, and it handled them alright!

They have a Mercedes engine (which is what I think he was referring to). The only downside is, because they don't make them any more, parts can be extremely difficult to get hold of. It's why I got rid of mine in the end, but I miss it!

Thanks for that response - now I realise he said something about a Mercedes engine, so that's right then. Where you say they don't make them any more, is that that particular model or those cars in general? Would hate to buy it and then find if something goes wrong, I can't get the parts. Cheers.
