Hello All,
I'm new to the forum so apologies if this is the wrong place for this.
I am in the process of buying a 2000 Reg DAF 45 150 with a lovely Wooden Box on her but the handbrake doesn't work.
To explain a little bit more....The gauges seem to be fine from what I can see (also new to HGVs) and the foot pedal works fine and the brakes work well and don't feel spongy.
The handbrake however doesnt work. I did find some other info on other threads with people having issues with the handbrake not disengaging, but I have the opposite. With the handbrake in up position, it doesn't hold the van at all.
I did check underneath and the cables that run to the rear drums are both fine and in good undamaged condition.
How would I go about trouble shooting this or repairing? Could it be the 4 way value? Could it be a issue with the tank? what should I check first? Any help much appreciated.
