Daft question! (jackets)

Hi, my friend has kindly offered to make me a new hacking and show jackets. what is the best and acceptable materials to use? and any other useful information we be grateful!

Generally they are wool, the hacking one being tweed (Brown or Green with optional overcheck) and the show jacket being Navy.

I assume this is for ridden showing? If so, steer clear of Black as it's not acceptible for Ladies.

Thank you, yes its for showing. is normal wool or lamb wool better? and whats an ideal wieght as it would need to be durable but not too heavy (if you know what i mean). For the tweed does it strickly have to be green or brown undercheck? or can you have like a light heather colour or blue/grey?

I NEVER thought it would be this hard to make a choice!
