Daily Mail campaign habit - can we make it work for us?

Totally agree, but do not confuse this with Kosher slaughter, despite what the writing says. It is nothing of the sort. It may pass itself off as Kosher, but there is no way the animal should suffer like that, or be aware of any pain. And to think this was in America!

The problem is, all slaughter in theory is humane, it's just when you get these production lines going - whatever the religious stance- corners get cut and the system breaks down. Hence the awful footage. Thing is - what to DO? I only buy organic, free range, etc (though even that doesn't guarantee how they were actually dispatched) and support CIWF but I would like to be able to do something more. I hope the DM take notice and get a hold of this, if they want to outrage their readers I can't think of a more worthy cause. Certainly more offensive than house prices dropping....

Absolutely! Although meat will become a thing of the past once all grazing land is given over the biodiesel crops.

The CIWF website has a list of which supermarkets perform best on animal welfare, which makes interesting reading.
