Im very nervous any tips?? Everyone say's we will be asked not to go back, but I think it will be good for her, she has such an active brain and thought she might enjoy it. We did a bit of jumping in her puppy classes and she had a ball so she is now 2yrs old ive signed her up for a 6 week induction course....
Anyone had any disasters??

no experiences to report but i'd love to hear how you get on. we have a 4 month old collie x and when she's old enough I'd love her to have a go. It looks like so much fun - for her and me! good luck.

We have signed up for one starting mid March, What sort of dog is she? my Minnie is a Staffy X, I hope they dont mind that? she loves jumping the pony jumps at the farm and chasng after things so i am hoping she will have a blast

Why would they mind? Staffs actually make fab agility dogs, the one's I watched at the KC Agility Festival last year flew around the course, pinging the jumps no probs.

You'll really enjoy it! I've been going for nearly 2yrs now and started off running one dog, then two, now I run three and am waiting for the puppy to do it

I want to take a Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen to agility classes.

We had a little practice with him with some make shift jumps, weaving poles and an A-frame made from th centre partition of a horse box. It was hilarious. He figured out pretty quickly that he could go through the jumps if he shut his eyes and kept trying to ruch off after rabbits. He was finally persuaded to keep to task with the help of a banana! For some odd reason he loves them, and they're very visual too! All this had to be done with him on a lead so he didn't run away so I got plenty of exercise.

His agility skills are by no means great due to being a bit on the long side and being very prone to running off the second something else interests him. I'm hoping the agility class will appreciate his comedy value!

It'll be great for her!
Im sure you'll both love it!
Ive been taking my VERY active Patterdale Terrier for 3 weeks now and he loves it!!
He had NO basic training so would just run off and do what he liked, Id tell him to sit and wait and he'd run off like a loon!!
But even after only 3 weeks he's really getting it!!
His manners have improved a lot and he's a different dog!! He is really enjoying it and it gives his very active mind something to think about!!
Dont worry about your dog not doing what you say or not really doing waht they should be doing the 1st few times etc they should be used to dogs like that!!
Word of warning tho when we get back from Agility my little pooch sleeps for the rest of the day!!!
I hope you have a great time and I look forward to hearing all about it!!!
