Poor little Daisy took a tumble on Christmas day after the thug that is Jezza knocked her out of the back of the 4x4.
I checked her over at the time and other than being a bit shocked she seemed fine. She stiffened up overnight but by lunch time on boxing day she was back to her normal chirpy bouncy self.
Today we noticed a pea size lump on her lip just under her left canine tooth. It is new, i think it is possible she bit her lip in the fall.
she is not distressed, she is happy in herself (her usual chirpy happy self) so rather than an emergency trip we gave an appointment tomorrow.
Wish her luck! Hopefully it is just something minor and we are worrying about nothing.

Oh crap, crap, crap, that it turned out to be a tumour.
But fingers crossed that it turns out to be one of those cases where you're lucky to have found it, because it means it can be removed before it has caused any harm. Hope they can do the operation as soon as possible, and that all ends well. {{{{{{Vibes}}}}}}

I wondered if it was as I found my little JRTs tumour in much the same way - by accident.
It was an epulis which is benign but they can get very big and cause bleeding and eating problems. She had it removed by my vet but it came back with a vengence. She went to Fitzpatricks soft tissue/cancer centre and had a massive op (by my standards!). She had lots of teeth and lots of bone removed from her upper jaw with a graft to cover the defect. She was 12 at the time and I was unsure if it was the right thing to do. They talked me through it all and showed me pictures pre and post op of other dogs. I made the decision but was very unsure really.
She came home on day 2 post op eating soft food and the next day stole a chicken foot off her brother which she demolished (I couldn't catch her to get it back).
She had another 2 years of good life and I lost her to dementia not associated with the tumour at all.
Just letting you know that even if it needs a big op it is not the end of the world. xxx fingers crossed for her. xxx

Glad the surgery went well. Considering where it is located, I presume the veterinarian counted on that she would be able to lick it, but hopefully not excessively.
Fingers crossed healing, and everything else, ends well.
