WRONG..

15 minutes in to what should have been a nice evening walk when I looked at my Lurcher, Daisy only to see she wasn't white any more but brown, completely covered in fox poo....LITTLE GIT.
I only looked away for 30 seconds and never saw her do it and she trots over to present herself trying to rub round your legs looking sooooo pleased with herself..................... LITTLE GIT.
Only her feet and tail were white, she had it round her neck, behind her ears, IN her ears, all down her back, sides and tummy she must have dived in it and by the amount of it, that fox must have been the size of a hippo................................LITTLE GIT
I then had to transport her back home in the van but she shares a large cage with my 2 boys and I didn't want them contaminated so the boys were in the front with Mum and I whilst SHE had the cage to herself...................................................... LITTLE GIT
I've just finished scrubbing her from head to foot out in the garden with a bucket of soapy water and disinfectant. Even her leather lead was covered, so that , her collar, bedding, and towels have all gone in the washing machine tonight. It will certainly test my leather conditioner I make to the extreme tomorrow when I liberally coat the lead in it, see what it's like after...LITTLE GIT
I keep telling her it's NOT Channel no 5 but ANAL no 5

Know the feeling! although You should try a dark grey/black and wiry coated one. Sometimes the first my OH is aware of her rolling in unmentionables first thing in the morning (the fresher the better!) is when she jumps into bed with me when I am working lates and still asleep. I assume he has no sense of smell or she manages to keep down wind of him all the way home.

PS found butter doesn't melt when she hides in down the back of the sofa either - until you sit on it.

yuck, bet that wakes you up and quickly, can't imagine it in bed with me as you'd have to strip the whole bed off to wash it!

She's a foxy lady LOL and a big dog too, that has to have been a lot of poo.Hope she doesn't do it again today, imagine that,it could become a habit..".eau de volpe"

Re your leather conditioner, any hints as to what you use?My leads could all do with a good clean.

she does look rather too elegant and ladylike to be doing THAT sort of thing :) My little jrt Archie aka Archie poo now has another rather more fitting name... Mr Fox Poo. He answers to it as well :( There is just nothing worse is there, revolting smell!

I feel your pain (and also share the giggles of others) :D My first collie loved a bit of duck/chicken poo and if you didn't keep an eye on her would go into the bird houses at a friends and roll. One day she did it and came back very pleased with herself, she had lots of white in her coat but came back absolutely black! Yuck!
Poor girl needed hosed down before she could be taken into the house for a proper wash it was that bad!

My mum's little collie rolled in what looked like human poop once... guess who was walking her that day? Yup me, and I didn't realise till I tried to put her on the lead :( The hour walk home to get a proper wash (puddles were gratefully received that day!) took me about 40mins! I was that horrified I think I power walked the whole way ha ha! :D

Got to love them... mostly! ;)

lol, sounds awful sandi_84

The worst one Daisy ever did was a few Summers ago, we were out in the summer heat when she sodded off in to a field as she usually does looking for bunnies when she came back she was black, even worse than the other night and it was pig's poo!
God that ride home was memorable with her wrapped in a towel to try to contain the smell, everyone with windows open and heaving all the way home, she thought she was the bees knees, LITTLE GIT

It was horrific! Holding the offending hand and dog as far away from myself as possible whilst trying very very hard not to think about it ha ha! :D at least I can laugh about it now :)

Ha ha! Your daisy loves her perfume it seems ;)

Lol, what a lovely looking dog- and hopefully a sweet smelling one now!

One of my labradoodles rolled in a dead seal once on a beautiful Norfolk beach- trust him to find the one disgusting thing around.

He was gut wrenchingly stinky and it took many baths to rid the smell from him and everything he had touched on the way home in the car.

lol, yes, she smells sweet again.....................until next time

Hahaha, naughty girl Daisy! My staffie also loves rolling in fox pooh. Unfortunately he can smell it miles away and if it was up to him, he'll either roll in it or eat it, or both...urgh!!

Just checking you know about the trick with tomato sauce to get rid of the smell of it on their coat? If you rub some tomato sauce into the fox pooh first and then wash it off with soapy water, it works very well to get rid of the smell. Not sure about using it on a light coat like Daisy's though, so be careful please, I'd hate to advise you to use tomato sauce and then causing her coat to discolour pink...
