Does anyone know where I could park a horsebox if I wanted to ride the bridle paths through the forest?

Went today on foot for a walk with the family but the lady in the visitor centre didn't seem to know much about horse riding and there was certainly nothing marked either on the maps on display or their leaflets. It's almost as if they don't want horse riders in their forest ...

That’s interesting, I had never thought about that and bever looked at the map to see if there are bridlepaths. I know mountain biking is heavily promoted there, and very popular.
Ride Yorkshire might have some info, perhaps.

Yes you can ride in Dalby forest, there are minor restrictions in some areas. Send an e-mail to them enquiring about parking.
Yes, I have an OS map of the area and there are what look to be lovely bridle paths through the forest and in the surrounding area. It's confusing when I google it though because one hit tells me this:
"Horse riding
Forestry England welcomes riders on their extensive network of tracks in Dalby, Cropton, Harwood Dale, Broxa and Langdale Forests"
and when I click through to search for Dalby Forest I find it isn't in the Forestry England list of forests you can ride in.

And yet I know you can at least ride on the bridleways through the forest, so I'm quite annoyed at their attitude.

Anyway it will be a couple of hours drive in a horsebox so I need to know where to park when I get there. I have got some ideas from the York Equestrian FB page, but I will also email the Forestry England people, thanks 😊
