Well back at work tomorrow after 2 weeks leave and only had a couple of dry days.

And to finish it off nicely my daughter put ours out today without their lightweights.

Got to the yard tonight in the middle of a downpour and the poor things were soaked. So feeling like a very bad owner :o :p:D

How could I let such a thing happen. The warmblood had her tail tucked into her legs and refused to have anything to do with me.

The way they behaved you would have thought they had been without food for weeks rather than spent 10 minutes in the rain.

To top it all they decided not to come in in their usual order but to chase each other round the gate. Meaning I was standing in torrential rain waiting for them to decide who was boss today.

For gods sake they are horses, they wont melt, even though they obviously think they will. Some excuse for the oldie as I dont usually let him get cold or wet but not the other two.

They are lovely warm and dry and tucked up for the night. I am sitting here still damp and cold trying to thaw out with a coffee.

Thinking of moving somewhere warm and dry, any suggestions.

Hairdryer!

That would mean moving and getting in the shower, Cant take the computer with me

We have been spoiled today ... No rain :)

You are right they won't melt :)

So, relax and enjoy your cuppa x

LOL just couldn't believe the performance over getting a bit wet, I mean, some horses actually live out in it. Wouldn't care but two of them are COBS

Lol! I'm incredibly mean and have turned my boy out without a rug every night this week! He's a tiny bit overweight but is also a very hot horse so even a lightweight is too much for him if it's more than 8 degrees out there!

Think all the other liveries on my yard have decided I'm cruel because he's one of only two without rugs! But you're right they don't melt and I actually think rain can be nice for them sometimes!

I know, I'm a bit special too ;)

Lol one of mine is built like a proverbial brick poo house but looks like he's been whipped when it rains. A picture of misery. He gets so angry about being wet he won't let you catch him. Kind of not very bright really ;) :D

Much better without rugs if they are out 24/7 and dont need them. Trouble is mine are used to it because my uncle puts them out for me usually and he's so soft with them

LOL thats what mine were like tonight. They would barely have got wet if they have come in one at a time like they usually do. Trouble is there is not an established leader. Sometimes the warmblood gets in first because she's faster. If she doesn't get far enough in front my oldie will send her off and come in first. Little cob will see them all off if she can be bothered but usually she cant. Today they all decided to gallop hell for leather to the gate and try out for herd leader and non of them got in quickly, stupid creatures. Luckily there is no nastiness, just ears back and pulled faces.

We had the farrier come Friday He likes horses unrugged had the tbx done 1st as he occasionally throws a paddy so start with him incase he has 2 have a break it started raining - the poor rug less horse stood there dithering midday in June !! How.bad did we feel - went back in stable after & had a day off as very stressed xxx

There is NOTHING like a wet horse to put you on a guilt trip!

Mine hear the car coming and stand in the gate corner looking pathetic every time. How do I know it's all an act? Because I borrowed a different car in the pouring rain last week and caught them out.. heads down eating away in a downpour and not bothered at all!!!
