DAMN!!

Such a shame... turns out PO don't "do" live animal postage... I'd have to kill him first which is such a shame as he's not a bad little sport really.

Perhaps, it would be better that you post the vouchers to him....?

:D:D

Actually, thinking about it, I think it is a sign from above that you should get a new horse!!!

I worked at a vets a fair few years ago and was asked one day to post a dead chicken (suspected salmonella) off for testing.. Was well wrapped  :D I did have a bit of a giggle when the woman behind the counter asked if there was any liquid in the package! I so wanted to tell her what was in it :D :D

i would but after losing my mare yesterday i dont think im quite ready to replace her so soon that and the finances arent too good at the moment either.

Darkhorse123, thanks for the good idea about the charities!!

Oh gosh I'm so sorry for your loss!! (((Big hugs))) Sorry if missed any earlier posts, what happened if you don't mind me asking?

Darkhorse123, good idea....

eeeeewwwwww!!!!! :(

Its okay, its easy for posts to get lost in the croud on here lol and she badly damaged her achillies tendon and would need to be totally retired with the slight possibility of being a brood mare if her leg could take it and for a 7 year old ex racehorse that loved her job it just wasnt fair on her. Hence why I have a bunch of horse sized things to sell and feed vouchers that are no longer needed.

So sorry you're having to go through this, You did the right thing for your Rosie.

"RIP pain free Sweet Rosie, gorgeous girl. You were dearly loved."

The charity idea is lovely, If you can spring it, throw in a couple of quid extra (doesn't have to be much) and donate all in loving memory of her.

Are you sure you want to sell everything now? Could you store it for a bit, until you feel a bit better? out of sight and mind. You might find yourself having to re purchase everything again, just down the road aways.

The pain is the reflection of your love. Take good care of yourself. ((hugz))

Oh no. I think you did the right thing. RIP Rosie and it will get better for you even though it still hurts now.

A friend of mine had hers pts after tendon injury because of the pain - she just couldn't put her horse through anymore boxrest, surgery etc. If she couldn't give him a good life, she felt it was time.
((hugs))

I think you should keep her things until you are ready to part with it all. You never know, you might need that voucher one day...

I would have kept them but they have an expirt for february and I wont have another till long after that, finances you see.
im keeping her saddle but the rest of it im not as I wouldnt want to walk down the field one day and see a horse running about and think is that rosie? Because it had her rugs on. So allas the rest of her things can go.
and thank you for the kind messages

Ex-racer, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your only comfort is that you did the best for your horse, as we all try to do. Our animals always break our hearts with their passing, but the time pain eases with time. ((Hugs)).

I had a job where I regularly had to put human remains in the post Rhino. I never told the woman at the counter what was in there!
