Damned flies!!

When is the best time of day to avoid the flies? I went out at around 4.30 pm, my horse with nose net and soaked in deosect and we were surrounded by a swarn of them. My poor horse was demented, as I was and we only lasted 25 minutes. I was so much looking forward to a nice relaxing hack after work but it turned out to be a pain!

I tend to go out about 6 ish in the evening, there are still flies about but not very many. Or my friend goes out at 6/7 in morning...

The last few days I just havent ridden, even in the morning and worse in the evening the flies have been horrendous. In the field its bad enough but riding it drives them and me demented, so am afraid that plus the hayfever has defeated me - roll on the rain!
