got down field lunchtime to find some poor suited woman up to here eyeballs in mud trying to catch my boy & the shettie.
they had been fighting it seems & my boy's offside hind had got trapped down the front of the shettie's T/O between the 2 chest straps, cue one welshie trying to kick shettie off his back leg & one shettie still hell bent on mounting him!

no idea how i caught them & got said rug off without getting kicked, trodden on or my walking stick broken.

luckily despite the apparent carnage they both seem fine, shettie has a tiny nick on his upper lip & my boy has a carpet burn on the inside of his hock. both are fine other than this thank god.

freak accident but one that could have quite easily had a nasty outcome.

Glad they are ok! My two were being complete loons on Saturday. I had to separate them for half an hour till they calmed down. Doing motorbike impressions and handstands up and down my limited grazing wasn't very welcome. You were lucky that the lady saw them and was willing to try and help.

So glad they are both ok, but i have serious thelwell images in my head with those to stuck together and lady covered in mud in nice suit!!! lol :D

she was totally unhorsey bless her & was talking to them like dogs whereas i get in & thought S**T! & having waded through mud & nearly been wiped out by them still trying to fight despite being tangled up they got shouted at!

It worked & they both stood still & let me undo the front straps & slip leg free, dimwits they really are & we were conserned about their headcollars being left on & getting caught. mind you its the first time in years SWA has been caught without a foodbucket & patience.

Phew what a lucky escape very brave of both of you. And that's why I don't rug my youngsters. Unfortunately not as uncommon as you might think just most have strength to break rugs.

Your title had me in a real panic for a minute (you know what it's like when someone's friend, and more than just a fellow HHO'er). And I'm so glad everything's okay after all. I agree with Susannah above's suggestion that the poor woman deserves a bottle of something nice! What are you going to do now? Are you able to keep them temporarily separate with electric or anything? When are you moving SWA for good?

there was a moment when i wished the kids in the car were a little older & able to video the whole debarcle!

i didnt get her name but her car was very distinctive & its not a well used through road so im hoping i can find her & thank her properly. she must have been terrified, it scared me a bit & im used to the dimwits getting into trouble.
Scarymare - it had never dawned on me they could get caught like that but am kind of glad in a way its not just my tit that manages it.

Faro - bottle of something nice for her & back to drawing board as the shettie trashed the eletric fence we had seperating them, so went for 3 ponies on 5 acres should be big enough to cope (i wish) should be in new permenant home by end of month just got to put gate on front of yard & re-enforce the fenceline near the local Aldi's as per our contract then wew can move them in.
