Has anyone used it, and what are your thaughts?

I was considering addint one to the alfa a oil and calm and condition I feed, to help got condition to my very poor new TB

Havent used them but I wouldnt add a mix as well as a cube. They are both balanced feeds. Feeding two different types is unecessary. Could you not increase the Calm and Condition or the Alfa A oil? If not then I would either find a higher calorie cube such as Baileys No4 or add oil which is calorie dense without adding bulk to feed.

He already has oil, and the recomended amount of alfa a and calm and condition, but I am not 100% happy with it, I just feel he needs something more. I have herd baileys can cause them to heat up which i dont wont, he doesnt need extra energy

I presume you are looking at the Dengie Fibremix Extra? It is lower calorie than either the Calm and Condition or Baileys No 4, but still contains cereals, which might hype him up. If you still want to feed it I would email Dengie for a full list of ingredients and the starch content.

If he is gaining weight slowly, you might be best to leave the diet as it is, if it suits him temperament wise. If you really are intent on changing feeds then another possibility would be to switch to Top Spec balancer and their Cool and Condition Cubes, which are grain free, so less likely to fizz him up.

Alternatively, you could add some micronised linseed to your existing feed.

Thanks, I did wonder if maybe just adding the dengie alfa a feed balancer would help? He has gained a little sine we have had him, but his coat is very dull and I just feel he is lacking something and I guess its trial and error to see which feed best suits him. Maybe I am just expecting too much too soon. How long reasonably do you think it should take for his weight and condition to improve, its still early days I know.

I think its the calm and condition I am questioning, not 100% sure its doing anything for him.

Thanks, his calm and condtion when wet is a muge amount a fills his bucket on its own, it just seems so much for him to get through even when its in 2 feeds. I tend to soak it hours before its feed and it just keeps taking more and more water

Personally never had or heard of any good results putting on weight with calm and condition...

Feeds that I've used and had results with are

Winergy Condition + Alfa Beet
Afla Oil + Build Up cubes + Alfa Beet

If a lot of weight is needed I also add Equijewel to either of the above feeds.

I would look at either Equijewel or Coolstance. The two TBs here on Collstance have done really well on it this winter - have held their weight and are lovely and shiny and one of them is 30 years old!:) we used Equijewel for the other oldie here and it worked well maintaining his weight but it is one of the more expensive options.
