I have the opportunity to buy a new Dapple dressage saddle with a fairly substantial discount. It's not a brand I'm particularly familiar with - does anyone know of them, good or bad, please?

Thanks

I tried one recently, it was a really lovely saddle - really nice quality leather, well made etc, super comfy and really put you in a great position - shame it didn't fit the horse :(

i also tried one a couple of months ago, looked a big saddle, my horse hated it, also no good for me the back of the saddle was hitting me in the back, overall a good value if it fits your horse and you.

I have handled them and sat in one- I liked it a lot, the one I saw was a mono flap, but have seen dressage ones too.

I tried a 2nd hand Mulberry Dressage saddle in a 17.5" MW on an ISH TBxID, true MW type but eventing fit. The MW was just too wide, she really is a true medium, it also seems to lift a little at the rear but that could have been because it was too wide rather than the tree shape.

She fits perfectly an Ideal Suzannah in a M - and if I could find one for a reasonable price I would buy one tomorrow! Hopefully that gives you some idea?

They are beautiful saddles! The sizing does come up quite big though.

I desperately wanted the monoflap jump saddle, but sadly when I rode in it, I just found it a bit odd to sit in, I think because it was so cut away at the front - fitted the horse beautifully though. The dressage saddle I didn't like so much as it is quite a big saddle, really heavy, and so I went for the Barnsby Theodon, which is a bit more classic.

I have worked with Dapple and they usually have lots in stock, so you can get them really quickly, and their bridlework (which they are just bringing out is really beautiful too. They really do pay attention to detail and make sure things are just right.

Good luck on your decision!

Thank you again for your responses :)

You're all pretty much confirming what Dapple have told me - that the saddles tend to come up quite big. My horse is generally a MW fit and they've suggested their M would be plenty big enough.

They've said that I can return it for a full refund if I'm not completely happy with it, although I'd obviously have to pay for P&P.

I think I'll give it a go - too good an opportunity to miss really! :D

What about your saddle ? Did you bought it, by the way ?
What is the model ?
What are your feeling about it ?
Can we have pictures ?

Many thanks :)

Because, I am from France, and I'm also maybe interested to buy a Dapple saddle. :)
