The silly fool got cast again. Hes in a large stable..i think its actually a foaling box, on a nice wide shavings bed, with 3 walls around either side, the walls being big enough etc..and he keeps just rolling into the bank and getting his knee's stuck under him ...or today he just did a literal roly-poly into the door! How can i teach him to just either not roll (Stable stains! ) or to roll on the spot haha? Would that work? Anyone have any experiance of anti- cast rollers and if they work.

a) Put him on a small stable so he can't roll. or
b) wear an anti cast roller as they do work, or
c) get rid of your nice deep shavings bed, put rubber matting down and just put a small area of bedding in to soak up his pee, that way he is not encouraged to roll

Be carefull of anticast rollers, they ca also in some cases prevent a horse from righting itself. I saw a horse on a previous yard manage to roll over up against a wall with a anicast roller on & was unable to even try and push himself back as the roller had wedged him over even more and in this case actually prevented him from rolling back.

I've found anti-cast rollers work very well...and if you nail an anti-cast strip along the walls, it can help give them something to grip/push against if they do get stuck.
