re the plaiting up for dressage... I went to first BD comp few weeks ago.
all nice posh horses all plaited up. I got some dirty looks as mine wasnt. Trouble is with mine - you cant he hates it, so has to go au natrel (he is a tb x)
What seriously drives me mad is people wearing dirty suede chaps and boots or Mountain Horse Rimfrost Rider yard boots out hunting... Or when people wear coats instead of a hunting or show jacket...

Must admit, i don't like seeing people going xc in dark breeches but i can sort of see where they are coming from, from a practical/ washing point of view LOL!!
Oooo, was very much the norm in Belgium, and is very practical! But have to say military strips - like the household cavalry or the odd MPN class really does it for me

In a hypocritical way I agree with you, but you should know that last weekend I went round a Hunter Trials with mushroomy coloured breeches on, basically because I only have 1 pair or of show breeches and was fully expecting to hit the deck! I dont fancy walking round all season with a washed out mud patch on my bum!
I do think it looks out of place, although i dont mind the slightly darker beige. I have a pair which i wore yesterday - but my arse still looked too big *sulk*
Much prefer wearing my brown jods, but just doesnt look great when competing.
