I'm not sure I have mentioned anywhere on here yet but I am off back to work next week. Now this means new routine for the dogs and as the days draw shorter walking in the halflight/dark.
Can those of you accustomed to this give me some recommendations of flashing things/hi viz things....basically anything you use to stop yourselves getting run over and enable you to keep track of where your little darlings are whilst belting about in pitch black fields?! :p :D

our dog have reflective coats from Pets at home, i think they were £5 each, they do catch the light well, we also used to use the head torches round the neck of the big dog as she is very hairy so the flashing colars did not show up

I walk in my high-viz work coat which is incredibly warm lol also got a light up collar off ebay, wasn't expensive and works well but then my girl doesn't have a long coat!

I have a hi viz vest for me, its hooooge so goes over whatever I am wearing. I should prob check out ebay, I have four dogs so dont want to be putting collars on and off all the time etc if I can help it. Does anyone have anything that just clips straight onto collars quickly and easily?

ah that is her collar! :) we got a red and I have it constantly on as found the flashing option did my eyes in lol was impressed considering how cheap they are :) and great idea for different colours so you can see where each is!

I found mine good although she never wanders that far away from me so couldn't really comment on visibility if you have one that bounds off into the distance :D only time I had a prob was when she was behind me and would stop and look at me as her skin and ears would hang over and cover it lol In winter i think my hearing improves as I'm forever listening for a jingling dog tag walking in the dark!

You can also pick up hi viz gloves and hats off Amazon pretty cheap. I got a kid's flashing tabard from Harry Hall very cheap from the Horseware warehouse, hi viz with red flashing LEDs, and free stickers and armbands!

I got a Visiglo collar from ebay in blue, you can have it on flashing or static brilliant in the dark/half light, have had many comments by walkers and drivers as to how visible it is and a good idea

I bought my Dad a bit of a joke present last year for xmas - a baseball cap with a light in the brim!! Turned out to be actually really handy for walking the dog - keeps your hands free as no need to carry the torch and was surprisingly bright.

I found the one I bought in one of the chain pet stores, pets at home I think but this company seems to make them....

I've just bought Rogz Reflective collars for my two, and they are excellent!! They really do shine brightly in the dark. It's a new range, and they do different colours: Venus, Moon, Jupiter etc.
This is an example:

They are also of very good quality, and have very secure fastenings. Matching leads are available, as, it appears, are harnesses.

hello, i have little hanging flashing light clip which you attach to collar. you can get them from p.a.h. and other pet shops. i also have flashing collars for when out in garden.

I tried the clip on and hanging lights on ours, but found the weight of them makes them hang at the lowest point, so can't be seen if dog has head down or it's back to you etc.

I like the idea of those light up collars, I am going to get one for each of our three and see what they are like :)
