Just been browsing through the Darley Rehoming site at the horses available. Why have they all got chifneys in?! Is this just standard practice for them?

Makes them look like they might be really wild!

Chifneys are used as normal and standard practise throughout the racing industry. It is not that the horses are all wild

As misinterpreted says - the racing industry all use chiffneys. I went to the HERO's place and everything they led out of a stable, had a chiffney on. I asked why and they confirmed that it was just their usual practice. It doesn't matter if it is a retired racehorse, or a 2year colt, ready for the derby - they all get led in chiffneys.
