Hi everyone!

Does anyone know if the Darley rehoming in Newmarket is still running? I can't get the website to work or the email address?!

Thanks!

I tried earlier and no answer! Will try again later on. If they've been advertising I'm sure it must just be a website error or something!

I had a pretty dispicable experience with them where they tried to palm me off with a very unsuitable horse, in fact a horse that should have been pts. Thankfully I a) am experienced enough to know when i'm being told a load of rubbish and b) I found out a lot of history by chance from a girl who had previously taken the horse and sent it back due to a history of lameness and dangerous behaviour.

They're not a registered charity as far as i'm aware so very few rules apply to them.

Unless you're a numpty rider (in which case you probably shouldn't get a young ex racehorse anyway) then they are ten a penny at the moment if you pick one up from a trainer direct.

Which horse was this? PM If you prefer

i must have been lucky then as I got a superb horse from darleys, and cannot praise them enough for their aftercare. I have researched my boys history, and found out a lot about him, which is all good. yes he has his quirks which most ex racers do, but he is turning into a very nice trainable horse. shame you had a bad experience with them as I have found them to be great.
they are not a registered charity, because as such they are not claiming to be a charity as you buy the horse from them, so its not like the others where its a lifetime loan.
i would def go back and get another one if my bank account allowed!! :-)

I sent an enquiry to them last year & didnt hear anything back from them, we went direct to the trainers in the end & found an ex-racer that way, just ring round & ask if they have any coming out of training.

Hi, Is Darley Rehoming still up and running as the website does not seem to appear to be updated, and I have been unable to find out any current information, I have a lovely home awaiting for a horse that need rehoming.

Not sure about darley as not looked at website etc but try the thoroughbred rehabilitation centre they are brilliant to deal with. I have a mare on loan from them

I spoke to them about six weeks ago and they were up and running then. Have always had a response within days of contacting them too.

The list isn't a waiting list. The list gets shorter or longer depending on whether they think they have something which will suit you. I have been offered to try three having contacted them three times ( never have as always get offered something by a friend by I ever even get that far!!) but some people won't hear for months or possibly ever. It is a bit hit and miss regarding what they have at any given time I think.
