I don't want this post to start a debate on whether these ponies should or shouldn't be on the moor, whether the farmers should be breeding them, whether shooting them is the best option, whether the right home checks have been done etc etc it's all been done to death year in year out! I am just posting to reach as many people as possible in the hope maybe at least one life can be saved as it is not the individual pony's fault they are in the position they are in. They often make good quality ponies despite being "mongrels"! If you would like more information and to ask anything then please go to the Facebook page where you should find the answers and be able to get them from the people dealing directly with the ponies - I am just a messenger at the moment due to ill health and it sucks!! Thank you for taking the time to read this it is appreciated.
So here we go:-
Various ponies still needing homes, 10 out of 50 have so far been rehomed, if you can help please do get in touch with the Dartmoor Pony Training Centre or if you can share on your Facebook pages and with friends that would be really appreciated as you never know one person may see it who can save a pony's life
Often joint transport is arranged to keep cost down so if you are far from Devon please don't let that put you off as often something can be arranged with others
These ponies are amazing they can bring so much joy, I got my boy as a unhandled 6 month old foal nearly 9 years ago now (scary) and he is the most amazing pony. He has taken everything in his stride, I backed him myself and brought him on and he is super, big enough for an adult to ride too
He came from one of these farms best buy in my whole entire life!!
