I really want as many opportunities to qualify for the P(UK) Summer Championships and/or the CHAPS Summer Championships this year. The classes I enter are for inhand showing in youngstock and coloured (plaited and trimmed type).

I would really appreciate if you can list any Annual Shows or County Shows that you know of in the surrounding areas of North Lincolnshire with qualifiers.

Below I have done a map to show how far I would be willing to travel within the red circle. 'A' is where I live. Obviously the closer to home, the more favourable.

So, does anybody know of anything? Thanks xx :)

The only County show in Yorkshire is outside of your red line. Can only suggest that you google, or check the society web site.

Are you referring to Great Yorkshire Show? If so, I am already entered for that. :)

I have checked both Socities online and have found some of he main shows. However, that is for the bigger shows that have notified them of the dates I think, (correct me if I am wrong). I know of an Equestrian Centre that holds qualifiers for both of the Societies, but they are not shown on the lists! xx:)

They have one at lincolnshire showground about July time I think, is probably lincolnshire show!!

Aha, I am entered for that too! :)

I had wanted to do Newark County Show but unfortunately I missed the closing date for entries. :( The Annual Show where I am (Messingham), use to hold qualifiers for both of the Societies for the coloured inhand class. Got the schedule for this year and it is for the BSPA Society. :( xx

Ooh Rudey, you are just down the road from me, im up in Howden, Near Goole.

Unfortunately no idea on the showing front! Maybe have a look at port royal, manor grange, bishop burton.

Mmm sorry not of much help!!

What is even more spooky is that I am staying in Holme Upon Spalding Moor at the moment, and went through Howden to go to RnR today! Talk about a small world eh! :D

Oh that's a great idea, thanks. I'm a stones throw away from Port Royal, will nip in to see if they have any schedules. xx :)

I'm from Hull, have you looked at port royal and sykehouse? Also, selby game fair? I think they do showing classes when thats on (sorry for being useless,i don't show! :) )

Wow it really is a small world! We are a stud / livery yard just inbetween HOSM and Howden, in Spaldington!!

Also have a look at Willerby Hill :)

Yeah Lincs show is 22nd and 23rd of June. Think Laughton Manor's now shut, does any body know? They used to have a lot going on and are just within your area.

Hmmmm I didn't think of Syke House - thanks, will give them a look. Never heard of Selby Game Fair - will have a search on the web. Thanks for the suggestions! xx :)

Willerby is one of my local haunts where I have shown (this year infact at a USOC Show)! Willerby at one point did thier own showing show, and had the qualifiers I wanted, however, they changed their schedule this year, and it appears they are only doing ridden showing, not inhand! :( xx

I'm there on the Wednesday 22nd - excited muchly! I would absolutely love to do well there and get the qualification, but somehow I don't think we will be as top notch as some of the pro's we will be competing against.

I will have a look up for Laughton Manor - if I find any information out, I will let you know. xx :)

Small world lol i'm just near howden too would also say look at portroyal they always have loads going on

*waves* :D

Just had a gander on Port Royals website. Great they have some inhand showing... but it's qualifiers for BSPA (not registered with them), and Equifest (already qualified for that).

Looking on the bright side, it's worth bearing in mind still - I can always go there for experience and outing's sake. xx :)

I'm just round corner to Sykehouse & I think they just do trailblazers showing. Try checking on selby game fair site, although I know their not doing jumping this year, its port royal that usually run that. Epworth & Crowle shows might do showing & for definite Sykehouse annual show does (not arena), that's the 1st Sunday in august

I used to live in East Butterwick; there was the odd exception but as a general rule if you want to go to decent level shows you are going to have to go out of the area, I struggled to find anything much worth going to in the immediate vicinity :o Shibden Dale RC have a show with PUK qualifiers on May 30th, it's out of your area but it didn't take me that long to get there. Derbyshire county has qualifiers too, again out of your area but not by a lot and it's only a stones throw off the M1. Moorgreen is ok too but that's not til after PUK so not much help!

Laughton Manor has changed hands but is still up & running. There's a Trailblazer's showing show there on May 1st.

Oh is it?! That's good then, I just heard that some sort of company had bought it and they were offering qualification courses and a childrens riding centre!

I had a look on Sykehouse website and couldn't see anything, so I have emailed them for any dates/info. I looked up the Annual Show, and I have emailed them. I checked out Selby Game Fair too, but that was held last weekend!

Epworth and Crowle are only a stone throw away from me. I'm not sure whether the Epworth Annual Show has any qualifiers, but I know that the Epworth Saddle Club just have qualifiers for the Ultimate Showcase of Champions, which I have already qualified for. The Saddle Club and the Annual Show are organised by the same people as far as I am aware. So I pressume if the Annual has qualifiers, it will be the same as the Saddle Clubs.

I have checked Crowle shedule, and again, they do coloured classes, but qualifiers are only for BSPA.

Thanks or the suggestions. xx :)

Another spooky one... I have my horses in Messingham! I have pulled up on many hacks to the Dog and Gun watering hole in East Butterwick! :D

I have had a look at Shibden Dale and I am quite interested/willing to go there. Thank you for the suggestion. I tried to email them with the intention of asking if their points and trophey shows had the qualification, but my computer isn't set up for outlook, so couldn't do it, or view their email address. Oh blast!

Hmmmmm, admittedly my eyes lit up with the Derbyshire County Show. The only thing putting me off is that I'm competing at Lincolnshire County on the Wednesday 22nd, Derbyshire is a mere 4 days later on the Sunday 26th. I don't know whether that will be a bit much for my youngster. Sat on the fence there - but imagine if I'm struggling to find the qualification shows I want, I will have to pull my finger out and go!

Moorgreen is definitely of interest. Their website hasn't got the 2011 schedule, but I had a gander at the 2010 one, and it's great. Thanks for your suggestions! xx :)

No problem, hope you find something! Forgot selby was over Easter!! xx

Thank you, me too. :)

Stupidly pinned my hopes on going to Lincolnshire County, Great Yorkshire County, Newark County and Messingham Annual for the qualifications. Panic has swept over me by missing the entry closing date for Newark, and Messingham changing it's qualifier to BSPA. Only leaving me with two opportunties at Lincoln and Great Yorkshire - and I very much doubt I will have much chance against the pro's there!

I qualified for the P(UK) Winter Championships held in March 2011, but I know a friend that had driven there in just a car and it had taken her 4 hours from where we lived! I didn't fancy that kind of journey at the start of show season, with a youngster that had had the winter off. I was gutted to not go. Hence why I so desparately would love to qualify for the summer championships! xx

Lol very small world! Im also in Hull and went to the USOC this year :D have you tried Driffield show? Im not sure they do the classes you want but i've always loved going. Otherwise iv got no more suggestions but i will be watching this closely :D

LMAO, we may have crossed paths! I was in either ring 1a or 1b in the inhand classes for youngstock and coloured around dinner time ish. What did you do?

Just checked out Driffield Show... no schedule on the website (that I can find anyway), so I have emailed them. Thank you for the suggestion - hugely appreicated! xx :)

Just a thought...sorry if you are already aware but you do know that there are open classes at PUK summer champs too don't you...so if you don't qualify for the championship classes you can still go anyway :)

Thank you! Their schedule isn't available to view online yet (unless I am being a dunce which is quite possible :p)! I have emailed them, asked for a schedule and stated the types of classes I would like to enter, so we shall see what they come back with! xx :)

EEEEK really!?! ...No I wasn't aware - I have only just joined them recently, and I have limited experience in the showing world.

Oooooh thank you SO MUCH for that information! I will have to have a read of their schedule then and see if there is something we can enter eeeeek! :D :D :D (I'm happy... can you tell lol)! xx :)
