Hahaha I'm sure you're right about the fringe!!! No way do you remember the (pre dolly I must add!) Broken arm! 5 weeks 6 days she was out of the saddle. That's what made my mind up to get her a pony. I figured if she wasn't put off then she never would be. Every bonne in her forearm was broke. Poor mite. She's determined, I'll give her that! Thanks for posting, nice to finally "meet" you!!!x

oh my! how much they've both changed! 
That last picture shows well how weak Dolly was over her loins and quarters, and topline generally i suppose... and how rotund she was! Well done to you for sticking with it, for not being too proud to seek advice, for accepting any (few and far between) mistakes as part of the learning curve, and for encouraging D to have a go and be proud of their achievements together.
D should be proud of how much her riding and confidence have improved, both handling and riding Dolly, and of her seemingly intuitive riding and how quickly she gets to grips with Dolly's latest trick!
Dolly reminds me so much of my first 'proper' pony (i.e. not my lead rein pony, but the wonderful Buzz that taught me everything!). She's got the same arsenal of 'dirty tricks' and stroppiness, the same orange mentality that just assumes she is in charge and the same way of letting everyone know that she's just letting you think you're in charge (I think you can really see that in the last pic!).
she's gorgeous, and she and D are both an absolute credit to you!

NO idea where the time has gone!!!! Except I look about 10 years older (is that normal??!!).
Dolly has been a superstar, and yes, you've completely got her number, she just let's you think you're in charge. I'd love to say that daughter has schooled her into a mothers dream,but honestly, I pity the next little child she "teaches" lol!!!! She is better, but..... Him mmmmmm!!!!!
She has however taught daughter how to stick on, steer away from obstacles when being p#*$$ed off with, dodge "time of the month" teeth.... Amongst other things!!!
They'll never be another for us quite like her, and as I've said before, I'll make damn sure this year is the best I can make for them.
I'm amazed at the difference in the photos. You wouldn't recognise her from the last one now. Yes, she'll always be tubby, but she's strong and fit now, which came with its own challenges but rather that than the alternative.
Ahhhh bless em, love em both so much! Why did daughter have to grow?

sadly, that's what little girls do! my sister and I were Buzz's 16th and 15th kids (respectively) to educate - we were also his last. He stayed with us from when my sister hung his tack up for the last time until the day he went to teach kids in heaven his naughty tricks. He was 46 when he died, outliving 2 of the kids he'd taught. It didn't matter how hard we tried to educate Buzz to have some manners and be a mother's dream it never worked. The week before he went he let himself out of the stable, undid the feed shed, down the wooden steps, into the feed bins, stuffed himself silly, then had to reverse out as he couldn't turn around, up the steps and then let everyone else out! He'd fight back if you argued with him, I remember one spectacular argument about going down a particular path, legs going like the proverbial thellwell kid, and the routine went smack, buck, smack kick, buck, smack kick, buck.... then mum got on and he walked down there like it'd never crossed his mind to do otherwise... little git 
but we loved him!
On the plus side! It looks like D will be light enough to keep riding her for a while yet, even if her legs will be tied in a knot underneath!

Awwwww little buzz sounds like a dude. I don't believe you, I bet butter wouldn't melt!!!
You're right daughter is about 5 stone so no fear from a weight point of view. But she's quite competitive and I know she'll need a new challenge soon. I'm ready for a less heart stopping pony too!!!!
I love the "kick, smack, kick, buck etc.,,.." Sounds quite familiar!!!!!

Daughter and Dolly look like a great team, besides if legs get a bit long and Dolly loves speed then maybe mounted games are the way to go?
