Hi everyone,
Thought I'd do a small update!
Everything is great!
Bye! (joke!)
But seriously, it is! They're both doing FAB together at the moment. For those that missed my last thread, they entered their first dressage competition a couple of weeks ago, and came joint first!!! Was soooo proud, especially as I'd spent weeks telling daughter not to expect to be placed (bad mummy!) as dressage isn't really Dolly's "thing" and it was their first attempt! But on the day, they were both great, despite the weather being pants!!!
Daughter had her first (small!) jumping lesson last week, and did a little bit more in a group lesson last night. Jumping definately is Dolly's "thing"!!!
Dolly looked after her fabulously and they've done really really well together. Obviously daughter has a lot to learn, but I think it helps that Dolly is good at jumping and so daughter just needs to concentrate on herself.
I can't believe we've had Dolly 10 months now. I remember those first few worrying months, and to think now, daughter is learning to jump, well it's just fantastic and I don't have a moment's regret! I do have a great video of them, but I'm not posting it as daughter wasn't wearing body armour and I'll get shouted at!!! (at least I'm honest!)
Dolly can still be a moo in the stable - she still nips occasionally but daughter is learning to handle her very well (and to be honest, she rarely tries it on with daughter - it's always me!!!) and I've learnt to dodge fantastically! I had to laugh last night though. It took me 5 minutes to pick one foot up! She wasn't even grumpy or anything! Just having a laugh at my expense! At first she wouldn't move it (apart from when daughter asked - not me!) then she picked it up really quickly and put it down straight away. Then when I asked for it, she moved around the stable and itched her head (and bum!) on the wall near me!!! All of this with ears forward and a big cheeky grin! I was trying so hard to be serious and say "now come on, I'm the boss, do what I say" but I could hardly pick it up for laughing anyway!! What a cheeky mare!!! I love her to bits!
The thing I love about Dolly, is however grumpy she can be in the stable, she always looks so glad to be out with daughter - whether it's for grooming, riding or anything else. I do wonder if she perhaps lived out in the past.
Anyway, sorry that this is a self confessed proud mummy post, but I just wanted to let anyone that cares know, that they're doing great.

And a little secret......we've been pricing up horseboxes!!! yey!!!!
Would offer M & M peanuts for any comments, but ate them all!! Really sour haribos for everyone instead!! And Lucozade because I'm tired as daft rescue cat has gone from attacking me every 5 minutes, to waking me up every hour to say how much she loves me - by sitting on my head, standing in my ear or on my eyeball and meaowing!!!! :eek
Thanks everyone!
