Hi everyone!!!

Well this week marked a real milestone for us.

We have some fabulous facilities at our livery yard, and these include a lovely big red wall to be jumped (as well as a full course of other lovely jumps!). However up until recently daughter wouldn't consider attempting it (partly due to Dolly's tendency to refuse these sorts of things, and partly due to, I think, the psychological thought of jumping "the wall")!!

Daughter has recently grown in confidence massively, despite a few dodgy falls. She really seems to have Dolly sussed now and knows what is needed to clock up those clear rounds! She's finally got the measure of Dirty Stop Dolly!!!

So when she texted me on Monday of this week to say that "THE WALL" was up for her jumping lesson, she was very excited (I crapped it!).

She had a really good start to her lesson (she has a monthly jumping lesson with a quite well known trainer from Scotland who is quite frankly, awesome :D) and then it was wall time!!! They had a couple of squeaks to start with whilst Dolly decided whether she liked it or not, but once she did, they were flying!! There was a rather comical moment, when Dolly knocked the wall and daughter clung on for dear life round her neck, only to clear the jump then come off on the corner but land on her feet and run along side Dolly for a while!!!! Good balance my girl has!! lol!!!

Anyway, enough of my babbling!!! Here's the photos!!!

JUMPING THE WALL!!!!! (finally!) :p

Do you think they cleared it???

Ooops!!! Had the potential for a nasty fall this one, but Dolly got them out of trouble!

And now some others....

Recent dressage

Check those faces out!

And finally my beautiful girl. Doesn't she suit red rosettes :o

She's a monkey. And keeps us forever on our toes.

But god, we love her. She's taught all of us so much and will have a place in our life forever. Our Little Dolly.

Thanks for reading everyone. I have trifle! Enjoy!!!:D:)

Wow what a jump!!

Massive well done to the pair of them! I would have died at the sight of that on a 16.2hh, let alone a little pony! lol

Aw well done again daughter and dolly! I'm loving her dressage face! :D What a scopey jump that little pony has!:D

I'm such a dufus.

I completely forgot another very important part of my update.

To mark the "almost three year" mark of Daughter and Dolly, I have had a picture commissioned by a VERY talented artist!

Now a few of you may remember that my girls have had a few problems with a pair of pink shaped pig fillers (Daughter has landed on them MANY times!!!). A few of you may also remember my lovely rescue cat, Midnight and her new friend Jinx, who also feature in this picture!!!

So here is the picture I have had created, by the very talented Emily Cole.

Awesome or what!!! :D:D:D

Wel done Dolly and Daughter (and mum for taking piccies of scary jump!). Lovely photos, they look great together. My daughter tried a sort of wall this week (plastic covering for straw bales) which pony did 2nd time and today just had pc rally and jumped green wall used as fillers to the side if you know what I mean. Neither jumps looked as impressive as your jump though. Well done again and keep posting.

Also love the picture.

Hahahaha.....I think I died.....a few times!!! :D

always great to hear updates on this lovely pair, how old is dolly? :)

Dolly is 14 now, and Daughter is just 12 :D

Daughter doesn't like that photo, but I love it! It says a lot about their personalities! Yes, Dolly can jump the moon....she just chooses not to sometimes!!!:rolleyes::p

Awwww that's brill. They're scary those jumps aren't they!!!!

This wall has taken a lot to build up to. Daughter was on cloud nine for days afterwards!! :D

I'm thinking of buying some of those bale covers/pole covers.....need to find something new and scary for them to jump now!

Wow I love that painting you commissioned! Very cool!
Ha ha Dolly always looked a bit cheeky to me and in that pic it just shines through ;):D

Thanks everyone (on tablet now so can't individually quote) Dolly has an amazing jump, but also a very determined mind of her own! I'm sure mare owners will understand......

Daft as it sounds, it was a big thing this for us! I'm so proud of them. Yes, Dolly is a cheeky one, but somehow she suits us well!!!

Fab update, its wonderful to follow their progress. Daughter has grown into an awsome rider. I wish my foster daughter was as brave!

Tell daughter and dolly to keep up the good work, I am sure we will read that they will be at badminton in the future the way she is progressing.:)

Always love seeing pingy Dolly photos, when Dolly's decided that she would quite like to show off today!

Love the owniversary picture.

I don't want your daughter to ever grow out of Dolly!!

All the best ponies choose when to use their jump

Love the second photo of dolly over the wall :D, have you been on a pound shop spree yet? me and JFTD had lots of fun doing that last year and much to my surprise YP didn't even look at the tarpaulin this year when it came out.

So being Scottish (& nosey!!) I've got 2 ask who the instructor is?
Thinking I may need 2 give them a call 2 sort out my (at the mo) non-existent jumping confidence!

Completely agree! The artist has been amazing, and has really caught both their personalities. Some very clever people out there, I'm not remotely creative!!! :p

Always love these updates and looking at the pics

Thank you! x

Lovely pictures!! And such a sweet pony :D Bet you're very proud!!

I am! It's been such a lovely journey with this pony, and she's certainly taught daughter a thing or 10!!!

that's a brilliant set of pics! Dolly has a really good jump in her!

She's a really good jumper. Problem is never clearing the jumps - it's actually getting her over them!!! :D

What a lovely thing to say, thank you!!! Daughter would LOVE to get to Badminton one day! Guess I'd better choose the next pony wisely!!! :o

Love the owniversary picture.

I don't either! I don't think she ever will to be honest. Daughter hasn't hit 5 stone yet, and is very slim. It's just leg length that's the problem, but we can tuck them up can't we???!!!!!

Dolly is SUCH a show off. Especially when they go out to shows! If she's in the mood, she is just brilliant. And if she's not......well.....I shut my eyes!!

PING! She is Dolly the flying ginger ninja (or should that be menace : o ) now!
D + D look very happy together.
Love Daughter and Dolly updates!

hehehehe we call her the ginger ninja!!! They are a really good team! Thank you! x

Fantastic! D& D have come such along way. Love your updates.

Thanks OldNag - you've been with us a long time :)

Any chance these ponies could tell you when they're NOT going to use it then??!!!:rolleyes::cool:

Pound shop spree is coming....this summer!! I want to get her a giant beach ball, and well, go to the beach!!!! :D

So being Scottish (& nosey!!) I've got 2 ask who the instructor is?
Thinking I may need 2 give them a call 2 sort out my (at the mo) non-existent jumping confidence!

See Nicnag's post! She guessed right!! He is amazing, and has completely changed Daughter's jumping technique. Every lesson is fun, but they take so much away from it. Best money I ever spent on these two! :D

I'm guessing Andrew Hamilton, cos any lessons I have had with him I've ended up jumping things I never anticipated happening!

:D:D:D Guessed right first time! Did he work wonders for you too? He's brilliant! :D

Yay :D Excellent :D :D

Thanks Mrs M x

I just love your updates as the always make me smile. the photos are awesome and well done to them both. A fab team x

Thank you! x x x
