**Daughter and Dolly and Harley....nearly ten years on!!**

I often wondered about you, so lovely to read that all is well and you still have little Dolly. I remember your posts and also what a lovely little rider your daughter was, Im so pleased she has kept it up and is still enjoying her horses. I am just on the verge of thinking about a pony for grand daughter but will wait until spring and see if she is still as keen :)

Thank you! So exciting to be starting a new got your grand daughter! I'm sure you'll buy a much more suitable one than Dolly was for us lol!!

Daughter makes me very proud. She's grown up into a great horse owner and rider. I think part of why I don't come on here anymore is that she now does the research for anything we need to know!!

Wish I could post better photos on here!

I can remember so well your first posts with Dolly. Well done and isn’t amazing how you end up collecting them. I so pleased you updated us all. I just hope that some of the advice we gave you was useful.

The advice was perfect and set us up for a good start. The best thing we did if I'm honest, was leaving the riding school. I remember many advised that and I didn't believe them for a long time. The help given at the school was good for complete beginners but soon because stifling, and in some cases, absolutely wrong for us.

I don't think you start learning until you're pure DIY to be honest!

Dolly has had a rough few years but she's on the up at the moment. We just need to get her back into decent work to rebuild the lost muscle and to help losen her up a bit now.

She's our absolute world, best thing we ever did was buying her!

Im an oldie HHO member too :) and I remember you posting about Dolly. Gosh I cant believe its that long ago! So pleased you still have her.
I stopped posting for a while too, the forum changed, the old crew or most of them seemed to go and it just wasnt the same but Ive come back too lol. I cant remember what predicament I was in, theres been so many over the years ooops but I really needed some advice from like minded people so decided to post and everyone was so helpful.
Crazy how we never forget our log ins isnt it ha ha

Yay dolly update! Gosh 10 years...ten years ago I was ....well it's not worth remembering, I don't own a horse any more, but still ride now and then and still around them...
Just out of interest was dollies abcesses linked to the lami?

I ask as have a friend that's had an on going issue some of it is down to her sloppy care...pony now has holes in sole and front of hoof, I think there's more going on and have said I'd pay for x-rays but she's a typical 25 year old knows it all !.

How lovely to hear from you! I have wondered often how you are getting on and asked after you a few times.

I'm so glad you still have both ponies and that your daughter is doing well

When you were last on here I had unridden ponies but I ended up finding a local child to ride them, the ups and downs reminded me so much of your early years with Dolly!

I remember your updates, loved hearing what Daughter and Dolly had been up to, they made a good team!

I can't believe she is now at uni, makes me feel very old!

Helloooooo!!

The vet says the abscesses are definatly lami related. He said she is basically growing her feet again and the laminae being stretches and basically shite, leaves gaps waiting for yuk to fill and get infected.

The farrier has had to cut away some dead sole from her feet which was also trapped gunk and causing problems.

We're far from out of the woods to be honest. And one of the reasons I stopped posting is that I knew if I posted about Dollys condition, what the response would be.

She's had a tough time. But she's never given up and neither have we.

We just hope for a fair crack luck wise to allow us to get her working again soon xxx

Monkeys aren't they.. The kids and the ponies!! When I think of those early days now, I cringe about how thick we were! But it was all a learning curve wasn't it xx

I remember Daughter and Dolly posts! Which is quite an achievement considering I can’t even remember who I was back then 😂
Lovely update!
