Hi everyone,

Well I'm sure it's not too long since my last update, so I can't get too told off this time!!!

I have some really exciting news to share.

WE'VE BOUGHT A HORSEBOX!!!!!!!

One of those 3.5tn van conversions. It's not new, but it's lovely - really thoughtfully converted and in lovely condition. Done my homework - checked the ramp and floor of the van. Checked the laden and unladen weight allowances. I'm lucky as OH is very mechanically minded (ex autoelectrician, and has built vehicles and motorbikes in the past) so he's given it a good going over, but we will be checking it in for an inspection too.

Anyway, wanted to tell everyone! The world is our oyster!! Off we go this year!! Daughter already has a good few things planned, but when asked where the first trip in our van will be, she answered "home". So we're taking Dolly to our little semi detached house with a not so big garden - but I'm sure Dolly won't mind for half an hour! I might even tidy up :p

Onto the update!! All is well. The end. :D:D:D

Things have been going lovely. Daughter and Dolly had a great Christmas - did a fantastic musical ride at the RS and rode every day for 2 weeks. (normally about 4/5 days a week) Daughter also got to exercise the riding school ponies over Christmas which was just lovely for her, and I think really really valuable experience - riding all different ponies - all of them lovely though, I've got to say!

Dolly has been a very good girl recently, much much more chilled out and well behaved. She can still keep daughter on her toes though ;)

Daughter has recently had a couple of private jumping lessons, which have been fantastic. I couldn't have even dreamed she'd be able to do this even 6 months ago, but they've come on (and sometimes off!!) leaps and bounds. Literally!!! Height of jumps doesn't seem to be the problem with Dolly - more the speed at which she whizzes round. Daughter is getting better at that though, and I'm sure it'll come in useful when she starts to compete.

They've also been doing lots of internet dressage competitions, with quite a bit of success. They've rounded up a few rossettes recently, including a 1st for showing!!! Who'd have thought - Dolly the dressage pony!!

Anyway, all is great and we can't wait to get out and about in our van soon!!!

Here's some pics!

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Lovely photos :D Especially the last - how cute. Brightened up my day at work, this post :p

Nice one on the transport - fabulous news - good luck with all the imminent trips :)

Fab news re horse box - the world is indeed your oyster! It is always good to go somewhere easy and non-competitive for the first trip so you are not stressed and the pony enjoys the experience. Wonder what the neighbours will think?

Nice photos although you might want to practice the action shots a bit more otherwise it will cost you a fortune buying the pro shots every time you go out :)

Might get Dolly to mow my lawn when she comes home! Won't take long!

I'm pants with the action shots! Have taken to videoing in then taking stills from the videos!! But I think I will be a slave to the pro shots it's got to be said.

Might as well just tip my purse out now....

***tips purse out, out flies moths and nothing else.....oh yeah.....horsebox.....***:D

What a fab update, I love reading about your daughter and Dolly, it's such an exciting time for a child when they have a pony, and Dolly seems to be turning out just great! Very pleased for you all!

Love reading your updates and how you've gone through the process of buying Dolly and how much your daughters confidence and grown and look at them both now.

Well Done x

As I've said on FB....FAAAB!! :D

Huge well done to daughter, she really has found 'her pony' :)

Maybe one day you will have to round up Dolly and daughter and we'll all go to the beach - I'm sure Dolly and Kelly would get on...!! ;)

enjoyed reading your update, pleased D and D a still doing well together. So now you'll be regulars at all your local shows - and prob some not so local ones - and all the PC rallies. you will all have a fab summer together I'm sure.

it's all downhill from now as far as your bank account is concerned!

Daughter and dolly are looking great. Well done on winning those ribbons. They poth look very proud in the last pic :)
Fab news about the lorry to. There'll be no stopping you now. :D

How fantastic! Ribbons, and wheels :) You have all come on so far, and it will just get better and better. Your Easter holidays will be so busy - a real voyage of discovery! :)

Congrats' on the frillies AND the van!

You know, every time you post pics' of them I think "that Dolly has got such a cheeky look in her eye". Long may you all enjoy her!

Lovely pics! Dolly looks like a nice pony. Does the venue not go by BD rules for their dressage? I only ask cuz my friend wants to do some dressage but she wont ride her horse in a snaffle. I presumed all dressage comps only allow snaffles.

How exciting :D You should definatly do some research on local pony clubs for them as they would both have a great time. They are looking great as a pair cant believe the improvment every time you post (but it has still been far to long :p).
You must keep us up to date with your adventures in the new lorry :D
