Hi everyone,
Well I'm sure it's not too long since my last update, so I can't get too told off this time!!!
I have some really exciting news to share.
WE'VE BOUGHT A HORSEBOX!!!!!!!
One of those 3.5tn van conversions. It's not new, but it's lovely - really thoughtfully converted and in lovely condition. Done my homework - checked the ramp and floor of the van. Checked the laden and unladen weight allowances. I'm lucky as OH is very mechanically minded (ex autoelectrician, and has built vehicles and motorbikes in the past) so he's given it a good going over, but we will be checking it in for an inspection too.
Anyway, wanted to tell everyone! The world is our oyster!! Off we go this year!! Daughter already has a good few things planned, but when asked where the first trip in our van will be, she answered "home". So we're taking Dolly to our little semi detached house with a not so big garden - but I'm sure Dolly won't mind for half an hour! I might even tidy up
Onto the update!! All is well. The end.

Things have been going lovely. Daughter and Dolly had a great Christmas - did a fantastic musical ride at the RS and rode every day for 2 weeks. (normally about 4/5 days a week) Daughter also got to exercise the riding school ponies over Christmas which was just lovely for her, and I think really really valuable experience - riding all different ponies - all of them lovely though, I've got to say!
Dolly has been a very good girl recently, much much more chilled out and well behaved. She can still keep daughter on her toes though
Daughter has recently had a couple of private jumping lessons, which have been fantastic. I couldn't have even dreamed she'd be able to do this even 6 months ago, but they've come on (and sometimes off!!) leaps and bounds. Literally!!! Height of jumps doesn't seem to be the problem with Dolly - more the speed at which she whizzes round. Daughter is getting better at that though, and I'm sure it'll come in useful when she starts to compete.
They've also been doing lots of internet dressage competitions, with quite a bit of success. They've rounded up a few rossettes recently, including a 1st for showing!!! Who'd have thought - Dolly the dressage pony!!
Anyway, all is great and we can't wait to get out and about in our van soon!!!
Here's some pics!
(check that mane out!!!)
(I'm so so so sorry for my really poor plaiting skills!! See above mane!!)
(my photography skills aren't much better!)
(I didn't take this pic - that's why it's good!!)
You can have half my twix if you got this far.....but you'll have to be quick
