***Daughter and Dolly - exciting news!!! And an update!!***

Well Done Mini Redmone!!!
She is doing really well. Watch out PC!
Now, how many equines does the box carry??
Could we soon be seeing Mommy Redmone with a horse? :p

Sadly Mini Woopsii has not been back on for 2 months now.
Op in Feb so I'm not sure when or even if she will get back on board. :(

As I've said on FB....FAAAB!! :D

Huge well done to daughter, she really has found 'her pony' :)

Maybe one day you will have to round up Dolly and daughter and we'll all go to the beach - I'm sure Dolly and Kelly would get on...!! ;)
K x

I'm loving the sound of that!!! The beach is definately on our list :D

They're such a pair together. Dolly loves daughter to bits, it's totally different to before.

Not sure Dolly and Kelly would get on though.......two strong willed mares!!!!

Maybe we'll find out eh! :D

Great to read your updates.
I have a daughter who hates ponies so I didn't get to do the horsey mum bit.
Enjoy! :D

Awwww that's poo. You must still try to convert her!!!!

Don't know how my life would be without Dolly. It's given me and daughter so much to share and enjoy.

Bit soppy this, but I don't want these days to ever end! :o

:D

They look like they're doing great :D Good luck to daughter and Dolly on their future outings! Dolly is looking fab btw! Keep up the good work :D

Thanks! She could still lose a few more pounds, but I think I'm more overweight than she is now!!

I need to soak my hay and wear a muzzle! ;)

:D

enjoyed reading your update, pleased D and D a still doing well together. So now you'll be regulars at all your local shows - and prob some not so local ones - and all the PC rallies. you will all have a fab summer together I'm sure.

it's all downhill from now as far as your bank account is concerned!

Money wise, it helps having an husband who believes only the best for D and D is good enough!!!

He's top - comes everywhere with us and is so involved! Was even there mucking out and doing feed buckets at Xmas!! He's designated van driver until I get brave enough! Just want a few practice runs before going it alone - never driven a van before!

He's also seriously good at cleaning boots and tack, which is really really useful!!!! :p

Going to try get daughter into the PC stuff soon. She's already a centre member with a good few badges, but will try to get her out to events. It's just a bit of a distance for us and never seems to be at convenient times, but we'll find a way.

:D

Congrats' on the frillies AND the van!

You know, every time you post pics' of them I think "that Dolly has got such a cheeky look in her eye". Long may you all enjoy her!

Thanks!!

You've got her spot on then!!! She is a cheeky monkey, but definately the best!!!

:D

Lovely pics! Dolly looks like a nice pony. Does the venue not go by BD rules for their dressage? I only ask cuz my friend wants to do some dressage but she wont ride her horse in a snaffle. I presumed all dressage comps only allow snaffles.

Thanks!

Daughter and Dolly are doing Interdressage - dressage tests which are videoed and sent off by email to be professionally judged and placed.

Each month there are about 8 different tests at varying levels (adults and children are split) - some are open, some are restricted. Some have restrictions to tack, some don't.

Interdressage is very good. Lots of entrants from all over the world (Australia, Japan, Denmark, USA, Germany etc...) and rosettes for top 10 placings, and prize money for the winners (daughter got first prize money the other month!! yippeeee!!!) - google it, I would really recommend it.

It's been ideal to get through the cold months, and allowing daughter to compete before we had our own transport.

Daughter plans on keeping going all year, she's loving it!!! :D

what are internet dressage competitions? am i being a bit thick here? :)

See my last post.

It's through a website called "interdressage" where you send off the tests performed and videoed, and they're judged.

It's all very professional and has been really good fun for daughter and Dolly, keeping them going in the winter months.

She's just done a "style and performance" test which included jumping, and also a walk and trot test. We'll see how she gets on......:)

How exciting :D You should definatly do some research on local pony clubs for them as they would both have a great time. They are looking great as a pair cant believe the improvment every time you post (but it has still been far to long :p).
You must keep us up to date with your adventures in the new lorry :D

Ha ha I was waiting for you to say that DH!!!

Thanks so much for your comments!

We know the local PC ladies, so I'm sure they'll help us join in. They're lovely ladies.

Daughter wants to go to pony racing school!! She wants to be a jockey :eek::eek: my first excuse was no pony, then no transport - any ideas now????????

Awww rubbish about Mini W. Tell what what she did again? How old is she?

You just was so prefer to go through it for them wouldn't you.

Thanks for your comments.

Box carries 2......... Mommy RM has happened to drop a few hints to OH recently.......who knows......!!!!!

Mommy RM needs to get her (big!) butt back in the saddle first before she even looks at other ponies. I did however fall in love with a little shetland that I wanted for myself to brush and play with and stuff. Said daughter could race it (:p) so she was up for it. But OH put his foot down :(

:D

Fantastic news, the fun really begins now (wave goodbye to any time you might have had to yourself!!!)!

Daughter has a super position, little Dressage Diva in the making!

Yey - free time seems to have vanished!!!!

Thanks!! Daughter is trying to read over my shoulder, so she says thanks too!!!

:D

Yeah... pony racing thing is never good- sister wanted to, never got to, is now desperate to do the Golden Button on her horse when he retires from eventing (luckily a long time in the future!).

The Golden Button thing sounds good!!

Daughter just seems to like going fast, and she loves racing (might take her to watch the Grand National this year) she collects Red Rum memorabilia, believe it or not!!!

We'll see about the pony racing thing, I think she should have this year to really make the most of Dolly and get out and about, and maybe next year when she's a little bigger and really on top of Dolly, I might think about it......only might..... ;)

:D I'm to predictable ha. I honestly wouldnt be saying it if it wasnt for the great fun I had at pc this year (my first one :o) if you were close to me I would have draged the lot of you down there with me . She could also to some junior rc teams :D (mini rm if your reading this go for it it will be great :D but I shall stop giving you more ideas or I think your mum will put me on ignore :p, bet shes glad she doesnt know me on fb or you could be full of great ideas :D).

Pony racing ehh?? sounds fun I would say you could use lack of breaks on the pony as an excuse but that would probably help pony racing :D daughter is tiny so cant use the to big excuse so will just have to go and be photographer then or that could be your excuse no one that will take photos because you will have your eyes shut ;):D.

:D Oh DH you do make me laugh!!! I always look forward to hearing from you! :D:D

PM me and I'll send you my facebook name!!!

Mini RM was reading this and is excited at the thought of me even putting down in writing the pony racing thing!!!

Oh and Dolly does have brakes. She finds them usually just before a jump daughter is convinced they're jumping together, but Dolly thinks daughter should check it's ok first!!

Daughter is getting a bit peeved at my lack of picture and video taking skills. I have this habit that I cant take pictures for watching. I can't not watch as I'm scared of missing something, but if I watch through the camera it's not the same. So not many pictures or videos!!! It's my next thing to overcome!!

I earnt my horsey mum badge a few weeks ago when Dolly again "found her breaks" and daughter came off and hit a filler!!! Dolly ran off bucking and farting (:p) and I ignored daughter on the ground and ran after the pony!!! She didn't come to me mind - she preferred the instructor with polos! I can take it, I'm not bothered :(

I've got to now be part of the pony mum club!!!! :D:cool:

:D good glad to provide a smile :D will pm you in a sec.
You have to try the pony racing BRS in newmarket do a kids course it will be awesome (get googling mini rm and you can claim its for saftey). Thats not breaks that being a saftey inspector like a good pony that she is she wouldnt want to jump in to any d and d eating monsters now would she :D.

Mini rm its a mum thing mine does it to  so now they take turns to video or if I can persuade them then one videos and the other photographs, then you get the best of both worlds if the photos are rubbish then you can nick some from the video :D I think you need to suggest this to your dad ;)

Ouch fillers hurt! supposed to go over not through  now your a proper mum sort the pony the childs free to fix. Reminds me of the paramedics chatting to my mum the first time she saw me fall off at a show they only get up if the rider doesnt, if they get up and tell the pony off there fine but mum was still concerned especally when the judge leged me back up.

Yes be a pony club mum then you would need something to ride if they do a parents rally...... see perfect excuse

Little W and Jazz where both having one of those funny days. Neither was paying attention, both on another planet. LW went into trot and dropped her reins. She bent down and didn't hold onto the front of the saddle and lost her balance.
She landed funny and broke her wrist. She had to have it pinned and plated and needs to go back in Feb to have them removed.

She loves Jazz desperatley but has gone from jumping just over a foot to making excuses not to ride. I just gotta let her carry on in her own time.

As for Pony Club-get googling. It works out better value if you join before 31st Jan and its half term soon and I know ours run a few events!

That's the racing website she's been looking at! I might get away with the fact that it is MILES away from us, but Aintree which isn't as far does occasional courses, so might stretch to that! We'll see!!!

Daughter already has her own custom racing silks and hat! :D

Have added you on FB - now you can see LOTS of my p**s poor photos, including ones of our new van! :D

That's pants. How old is Little W?

What a freak little accident, and so unfair. I'm sure she'll get back in the saddle in her own time.

Mini RM had a riding accident about 3 years ago (not at current riding school). She was riding in a group, without stirrups, and the pony behind her bit the pony she was riding on the bum. Hers reared up (not big, but 7 yr old, no stirrups etc..., not much chance) and daughter went out the side door. Landed badly on her arm and broke both bones in her right forearm and her elbow. Break was displaced (bone almost out of the skin :( ), so emergency surgery to put it all back in place. Very very luckily avoided wiring of the elbow and plates and pins. 6 weeks later, she was riding again. That's why I bought her Dolly. It taught me how committed she is.

I'm sure Little W will get back on board once the plates are out etc....they're such tough bouncy little things aren't they. Give her a big squeeze from me!

re PC I'll have a look now. If I'm honest, I know it's what D and D need, but I don't think I've got the time or flexibility at the moment to get them where they need to go. We both work full time and D goes to school miles away from us. Once she goes to secondary school in September, things will be much different. She'll be 5 minutes away from where Dolly is stabled and I'll be much closer to her from work, so perhaps later this year we'll get her to PC.

In the meantime, the RS have loads of things going on, and now we have the van I'll take her to a good few local riding club events, and places like Tatton Park, hopefully the beach etc..... we'll definately make the most of it!

:D
