Hi everyone!

Who can believe it's been exactly 2 years today that we bought Dolly!!!

Where has the time gone! Sorry I've not posted many updates recently, but Daughter and Dolly have me out so often now since we bought our box, that between work and pony there's little time left to post (although plenty of time to stalk and occasionally put my 2 penny in!!!!)

Well what have we been doing? Jumping and dressage mostly!!!

Can't remember when I last posted - they had a lot of success at The Ultimate Equine show, and came away with 1st in show hunter pony (gave me a heart attack because I didn't know they had to gallop ) which qualified them for lots of places I'm not taking them :p and since then they've had a few 1sts and 2nds in prelim dressage. Represented a riding club branch at area dressage, which was lovely, and have done lots of jumping (and a few jumping shows too - with clear rounds, but no placings to date).

In short, all is going well! Dolly is looking awesome (still porky ;) but much fitter and happier!) and she is so much better behaved than she used to be. She's turned out to be a brilliant pony, who teaches daughter lots and never allows herself to be taken for granted!!!

So please, everyone, wish my girls a happy 2nd anniversary!!

And thank you all for sticking with us, and helping every step of the way!!!

Here's some pics for reading!!

aw many congrats daughter and dolly, they really do make a lovely team:D love the last pic, that is so funny, she should send that in to Pony mag;)
here's to many more years of fun together :D (i don't drink so i'll have a cup of tea as my celebratory tipple lol)

Aw, they look amazing together! Is this the pony that was bought from Croft End? Or am I making that up?

Nope you're not making it up, you're almost right! Croft End found her for us via a contact of theirs (so not from them, but via them!) - lovely people and lovely place. We struck lucky on all counts!! :D:D

Remind me of how you know we were from there, you weren't the novelty class judge at the show last year were you??

ps Thank you! xxx

I said that too! Awesome picture isn't it!!!

Thank you!!!

Maybe have a sugar in your tea as a treat? ;)

No way has it been two years :eek::eek:

Seems like only a couple of months ago we were reading panicky posts from you about Dolly being a miserable cow in the stable! So glad all is going well for you guys :D

Two years? Two years? Is it really?

It's been an honour to follow all your progress, and it's nice to see that, although Mini Redmone has sprouted in the last couple of years, Dolly still looks more than big enough; still plenty of growing room there :D

Happy anniversary! I can't believe they are the same pair I met 2 years ago, both look great together. And how confident is your daughter flying over those jumps? Keep it up :)

I hope dizzydog reads this - I told them to look for you as they are having the same sort of problems you had with your 'dangerous' pony ;)

Tell them to PM me! I can't claim to be very knowledgeable, but we've certainly had our ups and downs!!!

Just takes a while to click doesn't it, and easy for us all to be too eager and too quick to write things off when really just hard work and patience it what you need.

Easy to say that now though....... ;)

:D

Nope I'm no judge, I just remember an old post mentioning Croft End and my horse is stabled right near there so it stuck in my head :) are you near Croft End?

This is really lovely. Have been following your reports since day 1. Well done to everyone involved. Here is to many more happy years to come. :)

She still can be a miserable cow in the stable! :p;):D

Yep, 2 years today!!! Amazing!!!

I seem to remember rather a lot of panicky posts ***cringe*** what a worrier I was!!! I'm more of a "scrape em up and chuck em back on" mum now!!! :D

Thanks x x

R H I N O !!!!!!!! Always good to hear from you!!!!!

TWO YEARS!!! TWO BLOODY YEARS!!!!

Thanks for all your kind words, support and unique humour!!! :D

Mini RM is not so mini anymore (I'm 5 foot nothing, she's 4 foot 10 ish!!!) and there have been the odd "too big" comment - both from daughter (her worrying!) and from a couple of others who seem to think it may be time for daughter to "move on".

Well TOUGH!!!!! She's got plenty of growing space (and mini RM weight's just under 5 stone  so no worries there!!!) and I don't buy into the trend of moving on to bigger ponies just as you're getting to grips with this one!

Dolly has a "for life" home with us now and forever. She's going nowhere whilst I have a say in it. Maybe one day mini RM may *want* a bigger pony (although last time we discussed the matter, she asked for a shetland, TO RACE she said!!!) but until then we're quite happy as we are!!

Thanks for all your help!!! Here's to many more years!!! :D

Hi Fairhill!!!

Ahhhhh you're the judge I was trying to remember!!! Always forgot your username!!!

Thank you!!! Lovely to hear from you, especially as you inadvertently met D & D two years ago this bank holiday I believe!!!!

They're doing so much better now!!! (although Dolly still drags Daughter across the field in novelty classes!!! I think it's part of the novelty bit!!)

Saying that, she also drags me across the field when turning out! lol! :D

Thanks for messaging! Maybe see you soon????

:)

Nope.

We're in Croft End!!!! Like I said above, we're very lucky, it's a wonderful yard to be part of. :D

Where are you, and do I know you?? I do wave randomly at a lot of riders on Knott Lanes!!!

:D

Wowee, two years has gone so fast! I'm endlessly impressed by how much progress daughter is making every time you update- her jumping is brilliant! And I love the last photo :)

They look like a great partnership- really relaxed with each other.
