***Daughter and Dolly - jumping BIG!!!***

I always read your posts but as a lurker I am very naughty and never reply buy I had to reply to this.
They look super and I think you have a great team! Your daughter is very lucky to have you as support. Well done for keeping your eyes open too!
Will keep an eye out for updates and will try harder to reply and not just view!

Aww thank you!! Don't worry - I'm generally a lurker too!! I read most days but rarely post unless I'm putting a thread up, which seems very rude (that I'll talk about ourselves but not comment on others) but I generally don't feel qualified to advise or comment, being quite new to all things horsey!!!

But I'm trying to comment more, and you should too!!! It's nice to hear from new people with new perspectives (not necessarily new to HHO but new to not lurking!!!).

Speak again soon!!! x

Here are some plaits of our riding horse - you can see how they sit against the neck. If you have a horse with a weaker neck you may want to "hood" them (as opposed to have them sticking in the air) but Dolly has plenty of neck so you don't need to worry about that! I can't find a pic of hooded plaits at the moment but am looking!

I can't quote as on my phone but thank you :) I think I will! I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that but I will contribute more. I too feel under qualified and a bit rusty atm but that shouldn't stop me from encouraging others or just saying 'looking good'!
Hope you have a good rest of the weekend :)

WOW. Just WOW!!!!!!!

I think I have a lot to learn :o

well done!!!

Im sure your daughter will thank you in many years to come for your support and encouragement you have given her (and the opportunity)! they have done so well already!

:)

:) Another lovely report on a youngsters achievements over the past week. She's come on so well so quickly no wonder you're so proud. Get driving that lorry on your own and there'll be no stopping the two of you :)

Exactly what I was thinking!! A couple of words doesn't take much and makes a big difference to someone looking for encouragement who's thread perhaps hasn't has as much attention as others.

You have a good weekend too!! I'm having a rarely weekend "off" from taking Daughter and Dolly "somewhere"! Lie in tomorrow....blissss!!!!! :D

I also love reading your posts, they bring back so many happy memories of when my daughter was younger and had her beloved pony Solo, your daughter and her pony look fantastic, wishing them many more happy times to come :D

Aww thank you, that's a lovely thing to say.

I'm so grateful for sharing this with her, and I want these days to last forever!!! I know in a few years she might still be doing all of this, but no doubt I'll have less of a role in it, so I'm very much making the most of it now!!!

I'm very very proud of them both. :)

Thank you!

I'm feeling so much better driving the van now on my own. Was a bit daunted at first but it wasn't a problem at all. I'm quite a confident driver anyway, it was just the thought of having Dolly on board too!!! But it was fab and I loved it!!!

I just need about 5 more weeks holidays from work to allow me to take them wherever they want to do, and perhaps a lottery win!!! :D

Funny, the minute I typed lottery win then, my next thought was getting a pony for me!!!:rolleyes::D

Did you do your Daughter's plaits? because they are lovely... :) Very cute!

Me and daughter did the plaits! We do them together when we band them, and I do them mostly when we sew them.

They're just too fat and sticky uppy! But we'll keep on trying!!! :D

Thanks! x

I can't plait like that either - but it doesn't stop me trying!!!! I definitely think a thinner mane makes life waaaaaay easier!

I bet a hogged mane is EVEN easier! lol!!!!

Dolly's mane is ridiculous!!! She's really rocking the big sticking up 80s hair look!!!:rolleyes::D

Awww, what lovely photos!

How old is she? Mine is six and I have only just plucked up the courage to let her off the lead rein  (in fact, I wouldn't have had she not insisted!)

I don't often comment but I cant not on this thread!!! I love daughter and dolly posts :D The progress they have made is unbelievable! Well done to them both and you! x

No. I mean your Daughter's plaits, not Dolly's. In the last photo you posted she has lovely plaits with ribbons/strings. Very little girly and sweet.

Daughter is 11 - been riding for lots of years now, can't remember when she came off the lead rein, but I keep threatening to put her back on it!

I suppose we have to let them get on with it don't we - doesn't mean I have to keep my eyes open though!:D

Thanks!

Awww thank you!!! I'm glad you posted - I was just saying earlier, us lurkers need to post more often!!! I'm terrible for it, I just don't think what I've got to say is much value to anyone else, but sometimes that little bit of extra support is really appreciated!

Thanks for posting and for reading!!! x x x

LOL!!! I thought you mean Dolly's plaits!!!! Ooops!!!!

I'm RUBBISH with hair - really really bad, so was quite pleased they looked respectable at this show! Daughter is a complete tomboy and so it's weird seeing her looking girly for once. Will be keeping this photo as a rare girly pic!!!

Or maybe it's just Dolly!!!:cool::rolleyes:;):p:D

Nope! I was talking about it earlier with my mate whose WB has gone loopy in the last few weeks, Fergs has cracked, even my old cob's been having a blast  and loads of posts on here about "late spring fever" - no fear, it's definitely not just us! :D

I'm sure it's the wierd weather we're having atm!

I agree!!! Dolly's been so chilled out the past month and then this last week :eek::eek:!!! She's so full of it! After that jumping session the other day I thought "awww she'll be shattered for her normal lesson in the evening, shall I leave it, naw she can lose the weight ;)" and then she was like a little firework!! "Forward to trot" - peeeeeecheeeeewwwww <<<<< that's the sound of Dolly flying past at 100 miles an hour!!!!!

Was quite glad their dressage was cancelled today due to weather!!! :o:eek:

Such lovely photos - your daughter looks so happy! reminds me if how me and my old pony were, He always made me grin however much of a monkey he was, and was always fun to be kept on your toes!

Can't quote on phone - just a note of caution when driving the lorry with just you, daughter and Dolly on board. Have the radio up loud otherwise daughter will learn lots of new words when some knob cuts you up ;)
