***Daughter and Dolly - show update***

Yay go daughter and dolly! :D Looking great the pair of them.

Thank you!!!! At least a little corner of the ribbon should be dedicated to you and JFTD for your advice and encouragement!!!! :D

wow well done. love the matching rug and travel boots where did you find them?

Thank you! www.bloominponies.co.uk excellent company to deal with, loads of designs to choose from and good prices. Can't recommend them enough!!! :)

Dyou know what? I love your posts, its so nice to read about a little girl who loves her pony so much and enjoys the whole experience, even falling off doesnt faze her. They have come so far, as have you, a really good team, all of you. A huge congrats on the show results x
PS I may well be pming you in the future for pony and child tips, I have just bought a little L/R pony to teach my granddaughters to ride but despite riding for over 40 years have never owned a pony. Im led to believe the littleun is going to cause me more headaches than my bigun!! :)

Thank you!!!! We all love Dolly to bits, especially daughter! And the falling off doesn't bother her now! She had a right one last week - Dolly stopped dead before a nasty filler and Daughter went airborne!!!! Cleared the jump and really landed hard (like possible hospital bad!) - just jumped up, dusted off and jumped back on and then jumped it! I was like :(:rolleyes::p:D Please do get in touch if you want a chat, I'm also led to believe that ponies are the work of the devil!!!:D

LOVE Daughter and Dolly posts!!!

Thank you and well done D&D! :D

I think when Daughter grows out of Dolly there will be a few HHO's in the queue for her! ;)

Awww thank you!!!!! Well unfortunately (for others! :p), Dolly is stopping with us forever! We've decided that even if she is outgrown (daughter is very petite so hopefully it won't happen!!) we're never selling her on. Long term we might consider a loan situation but at our yard only, and only to someone we know, but she's never being sold again now. She's stuck with us forever! :)

Excellent! Nothing like a 'Daughter and Dolly' update to cheer up a miserable wet Wednesday :D :D You must be starting to run out of storage and display space for all the frillies they are winning!

RHINO!!! **waves** hi!!! Thank you! I have been looking at new houses :o:p

Great update! Sounds like a great few outings there, and loving the photos as always :D

Thanks JFTD!!! :D

What a coincidence! Not been on much recently (I tend to be here in fits and starts) but logged on the last day or two and as I logged on today, I was thinking about Dolly and how she was doing. Was planning on a search to catch up on your progress and there you are at the top of the page! Daughter has grown so much! They sound and look like a fab team now, well done them and you for your perseverence:)

Thanks!!! Glad you found us!!! :D

That's great news. Well done to your daughter.

Thank you x x x

Great report, well done to D and D!!

I know I've commented on it before but I love that rug, I must have one! :D
Where did you purchase it from?:o

Awww thank you!!! www.bloominponies.co.uk - excellent company! Go buy one!!! :D

Wowww well done daughter and lovely dolly! (and mum!)

:D:D

Another lovely update. Well done Daughter and Dolly on there sucess at the shows. They look so fab together and like they are always having fun. That jump in the last pic is HUGE  Looks like they jumped it effortlessly though :)
Herbs and I also have speed issues in jumping. We always get a double clear but I think we must do the slowest jumpoffs in the history of jumpoffs. (I'm so scared we trot round :o ) Luckly for us most people round here seem to go for speed and end up getting faults so we seem to get placed most of the time ;) :p :D
With more practice daughter and dolly will soon be flying round those causes and getting double clears. :D
And I agree with daughter you should do some inhand with Dolly. (Then you'll get the bug and have to get a horse of your own ;) :p :D :D )

Thanks Laura!!!!

I'm already working on my "in hand" outfit :p being a short (fat!) goth, I'm not convinced the "normal" attire will suit me!!!!!!

As for the jumping, we've been told to focus on going clear at the moment and to build the speed up gradually (as the dirty stops were putting daughter off a bit) but daughter seems to sometimes forget to go slower  was such a shame she got the 4 faults at the recent jumping competition - I know it was an inexperienced mistake (the turning a circle) - daughter has never been placed at a jumping competition! She seems to just miss out every time!!! Wait for the update the first time she's placed!! I'll be :D:D:D

ooohh well done! That's Croft Top carpark isn't it? Lovely venue

Thanks!! Yes it is Croft Top's car park - we went to the Irwell Vale jumping show. We do like that venue. Are getting Dolly used to jumping a course indoors before venturing outside

Didn't see you on Monday? Were you there?? :)

All I can see, I'm afraid, is some serious hand-holding, tea and cake proffering and shoulders to cry on being required when D's legs eventually reach to Dolly's knees...

I recommend members of this forum to take heed of this warning and start preparing in advance.

In fact, pretty much the same rallying-round during the purchase of her  ;) :D :D :D :D :D

Well done the Dynamic Duo.

Oooooo NOOOOOOOOOO!!! I can't even think about that!!!! :(

I'm just under 5 foot, dad is 5 foot 6 ish - daughter currently weighs under 5 stone. I'm HOPING against HOPE that she won't outgrow her.

It's a strange circle of life, this pony buying lark isn't it!! I can't face going through it again!!!!!

ps Thanks! :D

Also - I wanted you to see this...

The fence is remarkable enough, at 3ft and the pony being less than 12 hands, but the little fellow on her back did her teeth (in his capacity as an EDT) last week

The pony still belongs to the original owner.

Awwwwww look at their faces! What a team!!!!!

These ponies are just the best aren't they. I was watching all of Daughter's friends on the riding school ponies at the show on Monday and was so proud of them all. The ponies were just amazing. All shapes and sizes, all temperaments and speeds. I could take them all home with me. I love the different personalities, all these threads about "sour" riding school ponies etc.... all I saw was a bunch of ponies, out with their mates, having a blast. And kids with big :D

:D
