Ah I love your updates too!! Well done dolly, daughter and you for supporting so well. Keep the updates coming your pony is fab loving the pictures!

Hi,
I haven't posted to you before but I've spend most of today reading all your posts with my OH getting more and more annoyed with the amount of time I'm spending on the computer. I really wish I could have read your earlier posts when you first bought Dolly as we are looking for a pony for my two daughters at the moment and I would have loved to read about your experiences expecially as you sound nervous just like me!!!:o We are going to see a pony tomorrow and I think I'll have a sleepless night tonight worrying about it. Oh well, it's lovely to read that your daughter and Dolly are getting on so well now and I'm glad Dolly is ok now. Looking forward to the next update.

:D:D

Ha ha sorry for keeping you on the computer all day!!!

How did the viewing of the pony go?? You don't want to know what my early posts were like! Seriously, neurotic doesn't even cover how I was at the time!! I am a bit of a born worrier, especially when it comes to my daughter. She's a good little rider, but broke her arm about 3-4 years ago (horse riding but not at current stables) and since then I've wanted to bubblewrap her!!!

I've had a few sleepless nights since we got Dolly. You know, you read all these posts about "mothers dream" ponies and "pony club school master" etc... and Dolly, well she's not one of those!! She's strong, fast and cheeky! Not a good combination for some kids, but she's a good match for my daughter. In the early days, I will admit that I did suggest to daughter that perhaps "something quieter" would be better but she was adamant that her and Dolly would improve each other. And she was right (don't tell her!) :o

Even now (nearly 2 years later) I'm careful to plan what events she does with Dolly around how we know Dolly can behave. Open spaces - she just wants to go. So far we've only done flat work competitions outside our stables, but that's changing soon! But I think they've done very well together and they've clocked up lots of rosettes, a couple of trophies and a bit of prize money.

I really hope today's pony viewing is the beginning of a really special time for you and your daughters. I wouldn't have changed the last few years for anything. Thanks for your well wishes!

Awww thank you!!!

I am very proud. They're really starting to stretch their wings together now. Daughter is eyeing up jumping competitions now (previously only jumped at home - not at shows) so we'll see how that goes!!!

Thanks x:D

Lovely news re the trophies - well done all of you. Re the colic, I wouldn't worry too much about what you did or didn't do, sometimes it just happens, and its always better to call the vet just in case.

Look forwards to hearing about your summer exploits.

oooh, mine haven't broken anything yet (touch wood)!!!!! but we have had a couple of trips up to the hospital. One of them has even been thrown off rodeo style and then the pony kicked out at her when she was on the ground. I am a bag of nerves but they want to ride so what can I do. Pony was lovely today, a real confidence giver but unfortunately not quite the one for us. Although only 13hh my younger daughter could hardly get her legs round him and found him really hard to keep going. It's so hard to find one that they can get going but who is safe. I did think I would like to ride him too but I think trying to find one to suit all three of us is impossible so will look at smaller ponies I think.

Anyway, keep the updates coming as I love seeing how your daughter is progressing and it gives me hope.:)
