***Daughter and Dolly - VOTE FOR WHICH VIDEO I SHOULD POST!!!***

Thanks for taking it that way, but I also had a problem with our long backed Sec A. The first saddle I had sat right on his shoulders. But we found that an Ideal GP saddle worked well. He stll has that 12 years on, and it still fits properly in the middle of his rather long back and doesn't slip forward at all. If it's any consolation, I currently have a rather roly poly 15.2 connie cross and I haven't even worked out WHERE his middle is yet. ;)

This saddle isn't actually the same one that we had originally, but it is the same make (which is where I think the problem is). The first one sat too far forward, and slipped up her shoulders (especially during emergency stops :p!).

We swopped that one out and got this one, which is a different fit but same make. It generally doesn't move, apart from occasionally when daughter falls off!!!

Dolly's shape has changed so much too over the past almost two years. That's part of why I want something new for them, and also, well because I would like something more special now they are going to shows.

Roly Poly Ponies are top!!!!! :D

:) I don't know what make your one is, but try an Ideal one. I am certainly no expert and certainly no connections to the company, but they fit both our long backed no shouldered Sec a and our short backed Arab cross also has one. May be worth a try. :) x

Will definately keep that name in mind.

The name of the make we have has completely escaped me. Daughter would know but I'd have to wake her up! It has a little green disk - something like "signature". Ooo poo can't remember.

Dolly's back end seems to go on forever!!! Especially when covered in mud, or worse!!! :p

Thanks for advice! x

Mud!!! I have two greys!!!!:p

(My sig is out of date btw!)

:D daughter has come on lots and looks much more confident, and dolly is nicely forward, ignoring the little blip of course..... well done everyone....

Yay D+D updates :D Love all the videos!

I wouldnt want miniRM folding to much more when dolly has a dirty one in there still. Heres a video of ellie frederics jumping and when they had their programme on H&C she said that she didnt want her to fold over the height she was jumping as she didnt need to and if its good enough for her mum then I'm sure its good enough for miniRM. Also will help prevent her getting in front so when dolly puts a dirty one in she isnt as likely to go between her ears

ETA another vote for ideals I ride a section A in one and its very nice

LOL about the greys!!!! I'm being a bit dramatic about Dolly and mud, in all honesty, she's never been dirty enough to need more than 15 minutes grooming!!!!! :p I'm sure she's teflon coated!! We regularly groom her for ages but just for the fun of it, generally she doesn't need it!! (jealous much!)

I love your sig, especially the black kitties!!! We have a black rescue cat called Midnight (Minnie!) who has anger management issues  but is slowly coming round!! :D

Thanks!!!

Daughter is loads more confident - these nasty little moments do have their effect occasionally though, I do wish she wouldn't do that!!!:o:D

Thanks DH!!!!

That's a really good point. Aren't there so many different opinions regarding things like this! Some people have said fold more, other have told her to sit back (to avoid  moments!!) - perhaps like everything else, somewhere in the middle is what to aim for!!!

***toddles off to watch video!***

Another D&D post... lovely! They're looking so great, daughter is looking so confident. That jump at the start- huge! What a superstar Dolly is!

And from the look of that arena, you're local to me (I'm living in New Zealand at the moment, but in my "real life" you're local anyhow!)... when I'm back in the UK this summer I'll have to keep an eye out for daughter and Dolly combination storming round local shows :)

Hi!! Thank you!!!

The area is Croft Top - Accrington, about half an hour away from us in Manchester. It's a lovely place and we do like the shows there (and the fact that it's indoors and without mud :D)!!!

It would be lovely to bump into HHO people one day!!!

:D

Had a bit of a chuckle at the fall :D does that make me a bad person? :p

Super job though, and especially like the union flag get up :)

Possibly!!! Nah, I'm sat here still chuckling, what a bad mother!!!

It just tickles me the way Dolly trots off afterwards (don't know why, and I'm sure it only makes me laugh because I know her - probably not funny for anyone else! :o) she just went and stood by the wall

Thanks!!! We're feeling very patriotic at the moment!!!

Ha, I saw the "croft top" on the video, and thought the arena looked familiar (from the once I've seen it!)... then after I posted thought: duh, probably not the only croft top in the country, and it's not like arenas look particularly different to each other in a quick video  But it is the one near me!

Anyhow... Brilliant videos (and I admit to watching the fall video again and having another chuckle at Dolly trotting away :))

Just want to say I read all of your updates and never comment but wanted to say fair play to you both with Dolly. You have done an amazing job on Dolly (and daughter-she's a lovely little rider) -she has really landed on her hooves with you guys!
You have been so supportive of your daughter and Dolly and you all have come such a long way-I love reading your reports and wish I had such a good pony mum ;)
It is a genuine pleasure to read about your exploits .
Best of luck in your future adventures!
(ps I may have had a chuckle at the fall vid sorry :p)

Once again, fab :)
I agree with others, too much folding will give her less stickability when Dolly puts her brakes on!! At that height, she doesn't need much more folding anyway :)
They are doing so amazingly well!

Thanks K! Always so supportive!!!

We lost our stickability today also!!! Dolly did her "running to the gate" special in the middle of a jumpoff!!! Dolly went right, daughter went left - actually nearly ended up in a shed!!! LOL!!!!

:D
