Hi everyone,

A very proud mummy report today, on Dolly and daughter's first dressage test.

It was prelim 13 and she came joint 1st!!!!! Score was 67.9%

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

They did fantastic! Didn't put a foot wrong. I'm so proud of them both.

Not many pics, and the ones we've got are pants, because it chucked it down all day. But never mind!!! Daughter is soooooooo pleased. I've been saying for weeks (and feel awful for this now) not to get her hopes up at being placed, as it's tough competition (open to public, not just RS) and it very much depends on the day with Dolly. But today she was perfect and no one was more shocked than us at their success.

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice!!! And BIG sloppy kisses all round to anyone who reads this and comments!!!
:D:D:D

Thanks!!! Was REALLY bad! Rain was coming down in sheets! Dolly spooked twice in the stable before the test (never done that before), and I thought uh-oh here we go, but then she was fine. She's ok with rain, but HATES wind, which is weird considering how much of it she sometimes has :D

Oi.....there is nothing wrong with a bit of dead sheep....although I draw the line at a noseband:D

Opps and you made me forget! Brilliant pictures Redmone! Dolly and Daughter are proving to be a winning combination!

Awww well done Daughter and Little Dolly! Bet you never thought you'd be posting like this when you first got her!

They look great together.

Thanks!

Soppy as I might sound, I occasionally get a little teary eyed typing these posts.

No, I didn't think I'd be posting like this! Could easily have not worked out quite so well. We're so lucky to have found such a lovely and talented pony, and to have all the support and guidance of our riding school, you guys on here, and our friends.

We still have our moments, but to be honest, they're few and far between and daughter handles them very well. Had an unscheduled dismount on Saturday actually :p !!! Should have got a prize for comedy value!!!

Dolly decided whilst cantering around the outdoor school, that she'd quite like to join the ponies turned out in the adjoining field! She headed straight for the fence (still does that trick occasionally!!), daughter pulled her up sharp and ended up out the side door! However, daughter being like a little clingy spider monkey held on for dear life and ended up holding on to the fence with both hands whilst having one foot still in the saddle!!! After a few wiggles trying to get bum back on saddle decided to drop on her feet! Any injuries? A red ear!!!! :D So funny!!!

I love the pair of them so much!!! :D

Big well done to her, that's amazing considering what dolly was like in the beginnning. Well done to both of them :) They look very happy and very smart :)

Thank you!

I'm so proud of them both.

Dolly is a credit to my daughter, and to the riding school who have done so much to school her and get the weight off. She looks so much better and happier and is a lovely pony now.

And I feel so much more confident now! See those plaits??? ALL mine (well except for the forelock!)!!! They're rubbish, but I'm getting better :D

AND getting her going really well in a snaffle too now!

Roll on summer!!! :D
