And I'm so very happy for them both. Feels like the long hard slog of finding and buying a pony, earning pony's trust, then moving her, then dealing with the worst of winter conditions with minimal facilities, has all been worth it. :)

And that's the post, sorry, just had to say it!

I am so pleased for you, your daughter and your pony! :)

That's the thing with horses - the seemingly most insignificant victory can make you feel like you have conquered the entire world! Don't apologise for your post - I would imagine every single person on this forum has also had a 'small victory' happen to them at some point, so we really do understand why you are so ecstatic about it. ?

Well done!

Congratulations!
It is quite some achievement to get to this point - I fully appreciate the need to post! :)
Building up that sound confidence base together means that they can face any future little blips can be handled as a team.
Wonderful :)

Thank you! Considering that I myself knew next to nothing about horses only a year ago, it honestly does feel like a massive achievement. So many doubts about whether we were doing the right thing, did I have any right to take on such a responsibility for a large animal, god forbid was it just a passing phase on my daughter's part? Well now I wouldn't be parted from this pony for the world and she's a different girl. :D

Well done and thanks for posting, all too often people only post when things are going wrong so it's lovely to hear when things are working out well. Like you, I knew nothing about ponies apart from having had a few lessons as a child and got thrown in at the deep end when we bought our daughter a 5 year old connie mare. She'd been riding for about a year on a part loan pony which lived with his very experienced owner. I kept the connie at the same place for the first year and had her ridden by a more experienced child as well as having masses of lessons. We had a few issues but we were so lucky to have found a lovely genuine pony. I have always managed to have experienced people around to turn to when I've been unsure, even now, more than 20 years down the line, I am never afraid to ask for help and advice. I hope it all continues to go well for your daughter and her pony.
