Dauntsey BE100 - good first one?

It is pretty stiff and would not be my first choice of a step up venue for a horse! It replaced the old Charlton Park (if you ever went there) and is a similar ask in terms of size and technicality.

ETA: At a similar time, Bovington (which is without a doubt the most boring event in the SW!), would be a better choice of step up venue. The first water there is a bit spooky as in some trees, but the rest is fine.

Mmm Bovington was an obvious choice to me too - but unfortunately not the OH's as it's his birthday! And bearing in mind i chose to compete over our anniversary weekend i think i may be single if i do it on his birthday weekend to! Wonder whether i can sell it as a safety aspect?!
Thanks though :)

I'd say not as I've been recommended it as one of my last runs with the aim of going Novice with Brit early next year. There are course pics on EWW if you are a member?

There do seem to be a fair few alternatives but I know people said it was a huge PN last year. Saying that, Impy is enormous so you can just step over them :D.

Bovington is nice and used to SJ on a surface. :)

Would agree with everyone but add one more thing: there is a completely new course being built this year as it is being relocated to the other side of the river. However, given the Beanie/Eric combo it's hard to see them building anything soft ;)

Noooo! It's taken me a month of looking at course pics to convince myself that actually it's totally fine and I should enter :D.

I hate not knowing what the course will be like :p Oh well, it will be a nice (????) surprise :D.
