Dave Stuart

Used to be Pat Parelli's number 1 guy in the UK until he and Charlotte Dennis tried to split from the Parelli thing and set up on their own. I'm not sure how succesful it was as equine ethology? Nice bloke though - good at what he does, just maybe the £ signs became too much of a temptation?

He started my Fell mare a few years back in Devon. She's ended up as a broodmare as she's a bit of a nutter under saddle. I'm not sure the 2 are linked to be honest - she'd probably have been better in different circumstances than she was in when she got back to here, but hey ho!

I personally don't like what I see of him at demos, much prefer his female sidekick, (is it Charlotte?) although sadly she is in the background to him at the demos. I went to see them on an open day a couple of years ago and he was doing this "thing" where he wound a rope around a foal's quarters and got the foal to spin its way out of it. talked a lot but didn't once explain what he was doing and why - all I saw was a foal getting more and more worked up not understanding him, and just when he was stressing the importance of a foal not rearing up and falling over, you've guessed it, it did!

My friend was going to send her youngster to him to be backed but didn't after she saw him that day.

Didn't like the way he handled a coloured at YHL either, but each to their own I know he has a lot of support.
