David Cameron is PM.

David Cameron couldn't even manage to win the Upper Class Twit of the Year Award, let alone be Prime Minister..."And the winner is Vivian Smith-Smythe-Smith, Second, Nigel Incubator Jones....my, there'll be car door slamming on the streets of Kensington tonight..."

Sort of on theme, I can't believe how many people I spoke to yesterday are moaning and slagging off David Cameron ~ and they did NOT even bother to vote.

Doomed I say all of us :-)

to be honest im not sure he is a real tory
no wonder they lost so many votes to ukip he seemed to be more concerned with what the leftwing press think Ah well gordon is gone along with his nasty destructive spitefull party, pity he stuffed the economy it will take years to fix just like after the last labour admin in the 70s

I like his stance on people being responsible for themselves. If he cleans up this feral underclass I for one will be very pleased.

Labour have desecrated this country over the last 13 yrs and its time for change.

Nasty distructive spiteful party...?? LOL Wait til you see what the consertatives do!

am sure HM was not best pleased at disruption to the evening either...(raises glass, cheers!)

I know it made her late for a dinner engagement - bloomin Gordon could have waiting until morning!

Do you reckon she accepted his resignation stood at the door in her coat all ready to go out while Phillip put his shoes on??? ;)

Its all very odd if you ask me, especially for anyone that voted liberal... they must be well p'd off. Considering Liberal are more left wing than labour.... interesting 12mths ahead of us.

^^^ This ^^^

I'm just hoping that the Lib Dems will be the Tory's conscience and provide some sort of damage limitation. I would have preferred to have seen Vince Cable as Chancellor - George Osborne is a frightening prospect. At least, if the news is to be believed, the Lib Dems have managed to get the Tories to drop their inheritance tax plans (ie, raising the threshold so that even more of their rich friends pay less tax).

Considering Liberal are more left wing than labour....

Since when????

Labour are the left, they are traditionally socialists and trade unionists. I know that they have moved toward the centre in the last 15 years but they are still heavily involved with the unions and reliant upon them for funding.

The Liberals are traditionally the centre party with the Conservatives on the right of centre.

You do realise that the constitution means that Gordon had to stay as PM until Cameron could prove he could form a government? He had to stay until the Tories could sort themselves out and decide what to do.

No he didn't, this is what he chose to do and was advised to do and in fact I don't think he should be critisised for doing so as it was in the interests of stability. In fact constitutionally he could have resigned at any point after it became apparent that he wouldn't be the biggest party in parliament and the queen would simply have invited David Cameron to form the next government.

The country cannot be left without a PM but the PM does not need a majority, simply to be the leader of the biggest party in the commons. Cameron could have formed a minority government.

By staying on Gordon left himself in a better negotiating position with the liberals though......

bout bloody time.

a radio interview summed labour up for me a women was asked what do you think should be the outcome of the general election?

her reply - " well i understand that labour have messed up the country and everything but im 19 and have 2 kids and me and my boyfriend dont work and i get alot of benefits through labour and i dont want to loose them which i think i will if another party gets in"

news flash dear GET OFF YOUR ARSE AND GET A f@~#?NG JOB, AND LEARN TO PUT SOMETHING ON THE END OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and we wonder why we have sod all money when half the country has this sort of mentality

Completely agree joe_carby. I really cannot understand why anyone would want to vote Labour after living with the **** that has happened in this country since they have been in power.

Hopefully the government will stop bailing out losers who have no respect for themselves or the country they live in.

I do not like David Cameron in the slightest & I think he'll be the worst thing to happen to this Country since Margaret Thatcher. The only part I can get on board with is cutting benefits for those who can work but choose not to.
As for the economic state of the Country - pah - it was a global recession that we've just been through/are still in and it not like the Tories have done the Country many favours in that respect in the past, is it?!
What will be will be I suppose, the rich will get richer the poor will get poorer. :p
