'We would like to sadly inform our customers that the owner of Sandon Saddlery Company Dawn Dodd-Noble passed away this morning. 26.02.2013'
Kind Regards
Sandon Saddlery.
That is sad to hear. I feel honoured to have been a customer of Dawns fine shop and may she RIP. So sorry to hear this and my sympathies to her family and friends/co-workers.
Thank you for letting us know Peter.
RIP Dawn. Spent many a happy hour rummaging at Sandon. She was a fount of knowledge, and I bought a second hand side saddle on her recommendation. Live too far now to enjoy Sandon. Thoughts are with you all.
I've already posted on another thread. So sad to hear this news. I'm now reasonably local to Sandon but I remember, thirty plus years ago, visiting Sandon for the first time and thinking "Oh, my God - this place is in the middle of nowhere along single track roads.....eeeekkkk!" and eating lunch in the pub opposite (which is now a private residence) whilst Sandon Saddlery was closed for lunch. Many, many wonderful memories of this shop ......And, of course, the donkey dressage.....RIP Miss Dodd Noble - a legend!!
RIP a brilliant lady. I hope the saddlery will continue, it is such a special place, I have only been a couple of times, had never seen anything like it in my life, must visit again soon.
I always said they should have made a TV programme as it was time turned backwards. An aladdins cave and I too hope this local institution continues. Its an experience!! Fuss and nonsense! Brilliant place.
