Well tonight is day 10 in the caravan. Having been concerned about Penny foaling really early, she has now gone two days over her due date! ha ha don't you just love them?
Penny's field mate Lily had her foal on the 7th last week. It was a bit of a worry for a moment, she delivered a rather dead looking filly. I had to blow into it to get it to breathe, after a couple of goes she twitched in to life! After that she was really strong, she was up on her feet within 15 mins looking for a drink. She's a really nice filly by Romanov. She's chestnut at the moment but looks like she may turn grey like her dam.
I am so tired now it's not funny. I am working and staying up at the yard at night. I work in Battersea and live in sussex, I've been getting to work for 8am or even a few 6am's and coming home to go and watch Penny. Whoever invented Redbull is a genius. I think I might buy some shares.
I'm pleased to report that my £20 ebay spy camera is doing the trick. though it's going through some batteries! Anyway this post is turning out to be long, sorry to bore you all.
Oh and I keep hallucinating in the early hours, I've seen lots of foals on the cctv, only to find that they are actually piles of poo! Oh dear....
