So my 15yo TB x was diagnosed with cushings 2 weeks ago following a persistent cough which just wouldn't clear up. The vet suspected his immunity was compromised somehow which is why she tested, he didn't have any other symptoms other than being lethargic, and slight fat pads over his eyes.
His appetite has been fine since going onto the prascend, which was what the vet mentioned may be affected, however I have noticed he seems very cross and irritable, especially at feed time. He has always been the sort of horse to make faces when he has his tea and his haylage, but he's being quite aggressive now and kicking out, when before it was always just face ache.
I've read about this prascend 'veil', has anyone any experience of aggression as a side effect and any idea how long I should expect to have to deal with a miserable horse before he starts to pick up?
It's very sad seeing him so unhappy.
