daylight robbery...by my vets !

given that i cant even get my drugs at cost price for as cheap as i can buy them online, vets are rather at a disadvantage. isn't it a bit crazy that i cant order in drugs from our wholesaler for the same price as from an online pharmacy? it would be cheaper for me to use the online pharmacy as my supplier! Then when you obviously add on some sort of mark-up it's not surprising it comes in at massively higher than online.

I wish this was possible for us! Our wholesaler charges us more than this to buy it in! Then we have to put a small mark up on it. As for Danilon that's so expensive and despite my best efforts the drug reps refuse to budge on price or offers. We just can't compete with online pharmacys
 
Just as an aside, and in support of vets - one of my cold ridden cats has been back and forth to the vets over the past fortnight, and I've only once been charged a consultation fee.

Quite impressed, and rather relieved.....:D
 
Still getting over a bill for £136.24 for a colic call out. Believe me I never fuss about paying but £70 seems a bit much for a rectal examination or is that about right?
 
For routine treatment such as callout + 4 jabs, next time just ask for a quote in advance and if it is higher than other vets in the area, decide whether you are happy to pay a bit more to keep the vet, based on the service they provide & the experience you have with them.
