Just curious to see how many days off you give your horses? Mine gets 2 consecutive days off, usually Monday and Tuesday, not sure why, but wondered if there is any benefit to the horse by having 2 days off in a row rather than 2 days off individually? :)

For mine it depends how much work they're doing, and what sort. They're just coming back in to work now, so have regular days off until they're a bit fitter. Once in full work though they don't have a day off if in light work, and one day off if in medium work.

I would think there is any benefit to having two days off (in a row or individually).

Izzy doesn't have set days off. Sometimes he gets 1 day off a week, sometimes 2 and sometimes only a day off every 10 days or so. Depends what we are doing and what work is like.

He will always have a day or two of non-ridden, long lining or bombproofing type groundwork.

He always has a day off after an endurance ride and always has the day off for his massage which he has once a month.

Most of mine get the winter off. They are started back up in the spring and some are ridden a few days a week, some sporadically, maybe once a week or once a fortnight. I keep a handful ticking over in the winter but don't do much except some trail rides with them. The ones I ride a few days a week usually are ridden 2 or 3 days in a row and then they have the rest of the week off. The ones who compete during the summer are normally ridden 4 or 5 times a week (from spring onwards) and their days off are whatever I decide each week depending on what other things I'm doing. I don't have any hard and fast rules.

Mine gets 1 off a week, but it depends on how his work is going, if he feels tired, he gets a day off! Works out about 1 a week.

Generally they all get two days off a week. Sometimes they get one, sometimes they get three. It all depends on my schedule. They'll go in the walker though.

Mine gets the Sunday off, as its my trainers and grooms day off as well.

But actually, since she's been feeling so full of herself as of lately, my trainer asked me yesterday if I could stop by the yard on Sundays and work her with the Pessoa system until she calms down a bit. Its also wonderful for her back so I'll make the extra effort to go in on Sundays.

My boy usually gets 2 days off :)
Sometimes I'll give him an extra two days if he's been really good the week before - I'm a sucker when it comes to giving him what he wants :D

I have two and don't usually have time to ride both on any given day, therefore they usually get at least every other day off.

Mine usually gets worked for three days in a row - lunge, school, hack/roadwork, then a day off. He does sometimes get two days off in a row as well and he's no different for it, but if he has more than three days off in a row he becomes a little difficult - on the ground and when ridden/lunged. It depends on my work schedule as I have a long commute for some of the week, but generally he has one or two days off a week. And if he seems tired he gets a day off as well, then comes back much better.

One, but if he has had a busy weekend competing then maybe two. Then one/two weeks off at the end of the season or over Christmas etc

When in hard work normally just monday as its the day after a show, At the minute its everyother day as shes off in 3weeks to be sold, so im relaxing a bit

one has one day and the other has 7 days ;)... really it depends on what im working :o sometimes i have the stupidest shifts which mean that its barely even possible to get to the yard at all :( other days i have most of the day to do what i like :)

Boyo is a light hack - we do school but usually its steady hack work at this time of year.

He gets two or three days off ridden work - on those days he's taken out in hand - as part of my fitness routine - walk/trot - power walking and jogging is way easier when you're doing it for neds benefit too :-D.

Come late spring/summer work rate will be upped and days off reduced to one - no in hand work.

Xx

This time of year he gets 2 days off as a rule and only lightly worked 2. But in the summer he could be worked every day (evil mummy!) but I do try to give him one day off if possible!
