I know there was a thread on here where someones dogs were seized under it, there was alot of helpful advice but I can't find it anywere, I think it may of been removed?

I got alerted to this group by a friend, could anyone who gave links and good information be able to help these people out?

Its a group on facebook - Please Help Save Beau Bear

Heres some information for people who don't have facebook, would be willing to send any info on if anyone has any but does not have facebook.

We are looking for support for a birmingham family whose teenage daughter is suffering from a chronic vomiting disorder, which had lead to her becoming anorexic, and her mother suffering from depression.
Their situation has been mad much worse as their family dog has been seized, her family stereo typed due to race, and the mother who's our nurse and her son facing prosecution. To explain-it's a long one so apologies. It is a sad tale for Beau and everyone who loves him. A few months ago Beau was taken / seized after being falsely accused of biting someone whilst off his lead.
The scenario surrounding this accusation is this; Beau spotted a German Shephard Dog at his local park whilst playing off lead. He ran to the dog wanting to play as he always does. The owner of the German Shephard grabbed him by his scruff and threw Beau away from his dog. The owner then claimed that Beau had bitten him. He reported this to the Police. The owner of beau waited for the police to arrive at the park. On investigation by the Police, the Owner of the German Shephard was an off-duty Police Officer and dog handler. There were no visible injuries and the skin was not broken at the apparent site of injury. He also accused Beau of being a Pit Bull Terrier.
After a long drawn fight it has been ordered that Beau be destroyed and his owners prosecuted. Beau is a big cuddly Staffordshire Bull Terrier teddy bear. He frequently comes with his Mommy to her place of work, and brings joy and laughter to her colleagues. He plays ball, checks the bins for sandwich leftovers, greets everyone at each desk, and will sit for hours being cuddled and fussed over. He will also follow anyone going on tea break, in hope of getting a biscuit from the jar. He treats everyone the same, whether it be strangers or familiar faces. He is such a friendly boy, affectionate and playful.
He is never stroppy or aggressive, never showing any sign of unwelcome behaviour. Beau is loved by his family, friends and work colleagues! He also has a large 8 year old male house rabbit as his best buddy. Having worked with Beau all of his life, we know the accusation is unjust. Please help us to save our Colleague and her Family from any more pain, and to save our Canine Work Colleague from Destruction, by posting any support here.. This animal is not aggressive, nor a threat to peoples safety.
Nor is he being used to break the law. What justification is there for destroying a family pet, adored by all who know him? This is also on facebook as please help save Beau bear. Beau has a court case 24/01/11 which will determine whether we can get his destruction order revoked.
However this is likely to be adjourned due to lack of evidence. This could happen to any dog off lead should any person choose to accuse them. We ask for negative opinions to be kept off here, being well aware that some of these dogs do attack for whatever reason, and are used for fighting by young men of all races. Our point is that with no witness, no injury and beau's faultless reputation we feel he is being made an example of and is not guilty of any crime. Thank you for reading.

This is an update from yesterday

Good news, today it looks as though the dangerous dog charge may be dropped, after the police officer changed his claim, and the kennel staff gave a glowing reference of beau's character. Now it's just a case of fighting the banned dog charge, as they are now back to claiming he's a pitbull looking dog. Any advice greatly appreciated! It's going to magistrates court on 8th feb.

I think the other thread was removed due to legal implications, be careful you aren't putting Beau's case at risk by posting here. However, I would urge the owners to contact Ann Harpwood at Justice for Dogs, this organisation has loads of experience of cases like this. Good luck.

Knowing a little more now after dealing with the police/RSPCA re the DDA, im of the understanding that pit types/dangerous breeds are majorily returned to owner under strict rules, castration, 3rd party ins, and muzzling aslong as their are no "welfare" issues involved, if he where deemed that aggressive/dangerous he would have been destroyed by now.
I think as I understand it they would/should get him back.

*blah blah waffle waffle to make it long enough*

With the best will in the world, no one is going to jeopardise these dogs and this case so they can give folks minute-by-minute updates :) I am sure all parties involved will give all interested and supportive parties an update as soon as it is appropriate to do so :)

I think you will find there are still legal reasons why she hasn't posted.

These posts infer that you know what is going on.
So, why isn't what's good for the goose is good for the gander ?

Just to say, I haven't mentioned these dogs since the thread was pulled and many minutes have ticked by since then, so I don't know who the 'minute-by-minute' comment is aimed at, 'cause it certainly ain't me!!!

Also, I have no idea how long these things take to resolve, I though it'd have been done and dusted by now.

I know nothing of what is going on only that the person who was involved in the case on here posted that there was legal reasons why it couldn't all be made public.

I have no idea of the previous post, but as said if there are on going legal proceedings taking place then they would be foolish to post anything about it, plus dda cases can take a hell of a long time to come to court and be settled etc. (talking over 12 months for one I knew of)

OP, if the case of biting has been dropped and they are not claiming the dog to be dangerous, only that it is one of the dda breeds. Then if found to be one and the dog passes it's temperament testing, it is 'usual' for the dog to be returned under licence to the owner, it would have to be identified (microchipped or tattoed), be neutered, be muzzled anywhere in public, not be allowed off a lead and not be allowed to change ownership etc. These were the inital criteria for remaining dogs of the dda breeds that weren't considered dangerous after the act was brought in. But I would agree with another poster to try justice for dogs as they have dealt with these situations lots, and are dealing with them more and more as police clamp down on the current dda due to the amount of dog attacks occuring.

I honestly don't know what is going on with the case right now.

Even if I did, I wouldn't be printing it on here or PMing it to anyone anyway, I just know how these cases can get and how careful you have to be.

The dog seized close to me last April is still in kennels, and the case has not come to court yet, it will be March at least :( so I doubt this case will be done and dusted very soon either.

Sorry if the 'minute by minute' comment offended anyone, it was not aimed at an individual but the message has been repeated several times, I was a bit frustrated, this is a sensitive case, and as soon as there is an update I am sure we will get it, I myself am interested as it could have a bearing on the case I mentioned.

To add Q, neither Katie or I are in the same country as the dogs involved in the case you're asking about, so it's not a matter of either of us 'knowing' anything that anybody else doesn't know because it wouldn't serve anyone involved to tell us :)
