My horse caught lice this winter. I have now shampooed him twice with an insecticidal shampoo. I am however unsure what i should treat his grooming kit, rugs and stable with to remove any lice or eggs from them. Does anyone know whether just washing them will work? Or will i have to use some sort of insecticidal disinfectant?

Make up a bucket of the insecticidal shampoo and chuck all your brushes, combs, etc in it for 24 hrs. Rugs not as easy but if you can get them in your own washing machine, wash them on as hot a wash as you think they can stand. If they won't go in your washing machine, wait for a nice day, spread the rugs upside down on the ground and chuck a bucket of made up shampoo over them and work in with a stiff broom. Then flip them over and do the same on the other side. If they won't wash at all, spray with Frontline but your hand will start to ache after 5 mins!
