Does anyone know how the rider is? Aparantly the horse died from a broken neck and the rider was badly injured and air lifted to hospital. That is all I have been able to find out for those who were asking yesterday.I don't know who the horse or rider were as nobody has said anything as of yet as to where they came from.

Awful, just goes to show how dangerous our choosen pass time can be

Thats awfull, I gave his lordship extra big hugs this morning after reading about this yesterday, I know he didn't understand why while filling his face, but we only have them for so long and I felt I needed to.

Yeah, I'm going home to hug mine now after reading this. How really sad. One of my friends lost her horse on a local beach (Kent again!) last year. It just dropped down with a heart attack. Luckily they weren't travelling at any speed. Sad days

If this happened on Saturday evening, then it was my friends boyfriends horse. Her other half was bruised and obviously shell shocked but ok. The horse was a superstar and a gentle giant and suffered a massive heart attack. Thanks to the all the local support, they were able to get him off the beach before the tide came in. The horse suffered a heart attack at the beginning of their ride, not a broken neck and no air ambulance involved so hope there was not another horrific incident on the same weekend.

I am so sorry CLY. How awful for your friend and her boyfriend. I heard this at my yard this morning and read it on here yesterday. According to my friend at the yard she heard it on the radio that a horse had died of a broken neck and a rider was airlifted so not sure if this is the same accident or not.She is definitely not the sort of person to exaggerate so unless the radio have got it wrong I can only assume it is not the same accident. I hope your friends boyfriend is okay.RIP to his poor horse.
