Dead Horse - Camber Sands

I took the dogs to Camber Sands yesterday late afternoon. As soon as I reached the beach I saw a paramedic rushing across the sand to a black heap in the distance. It was a horse.

I don't know what happened and I didnt see it happen, but it looked like the riders (there were two) had ridden down onto the beach and one of the horses had had a heart attack??

I didnt interfere as there were plenty of people about, police included in the end. I think the rider was hurt, but again I dont know any details.

Just was a very sad sight, horse laying dead on the beach, with his friend being led back to the lorry.

Two sets of hoof prints going out and only one coming back

Pointless post really, just hope whoever it was is ok and just that I am sorry that your ride on the beach went so wrong for whatever reason

I am quite local to Camber but haven't heard anything as of yet on this.Hope the rider is ok.Sounds like a tragic accident. I will keep my ears open and see if I can find anything out.

Unfortunately this was my friend and her other half and is exactly as described. They went for a ride on Saturday evening and her boyfriends horse suffered a massive heart attack. He was an absolute poppet and will be very much missed. Her other half is a bit bashed and bruised and shell shocked. The local stables and local hunt were apprently so helpful in helping to get him off the beach before the tide came in. An absolutely traumatic, tragic evening. I will pass on all your kind words when I speak to her next.
