Hi all, there is a dead horse in the river in irthlingborough under the A6 bridge i have spoken to a few people yesterday about it and have had no luck, Spoke to an rspca inspector who said it has now been there for almost two weeks, I have rang Police who said Rspca, who said council, who said Defra, who said Highway agency or British water ways, Who said Environment agency who said Council, I did say the horse was in a Flood area so will do his best and try, I have also Emailed the local paper. If anyone has any ideas where i can go to have the poor horse removed could you message me. All i want to do is show the horse that someone does care maybe not in life but in Death. ♥ RIP ♥ Poor little horse xx

Had a Phone call today from Environmnet Agency who said they have been and seen the horse and even if it moves under the smaller bridge will not course a flood, Anyone have any ideas Please Please say and i will do my best to follow them. Many thanks Clare

it makes me so mad. there are people in the world who would have done anything for that horse and given it the love it deserved.

hope someone gets to the bottom of it soon. r.i.p little horse.

Thankyou, If it was my horse i would have the hunt out, but i really can't afford the fee on somebody elses.Don't mean to sound heartless but have a fair few horses and ponies which take all my money lol. I only found out about the horse yesterday. What I don't understand is why has no one noticed they've got a horse missing, Some people shouldnt be allowed to keep horses, totally irresponsible and heartless xx

Oh my thats terrible, could your local hunt get to it?
R.I.P poor pony

Poor pony indeed! But I am appalled that the Environment Agency does NOT appear to be interested in the pollution aspects!! WHY should the local hunt take responsibility for retrieving the carcass and then dealing with it? Not all hunts would have the necessary winching gear to get it out -even if they wanted to go into freezing water to attach ropes and could do so safely. And the costs of disposal (as it will be unfit for hound food after several weeks in the river) could be £400 or more!

I think I would mention to the Environment Agency that you wonder if the local papers would be interested in hearing about this horse, who has died of who knows what and is currently polluting the water-ways and potentially causing an environmental issue;)

that is almost word for word what i was going to type...except i would ring the paper first anyway ;)

British Waterways are responsible. Cannot believe those organizations mentioned are not doing something about it. It's a health hazard and poor poor horse RIP.

So if we see a dead human in the river don't bother to call anybody unless it's going to block a bridge or cause a flood!

If my googling is correct this is your Member of Parliament
Lay it on thick you have been passed from 'pillar to post' and no authority will take responsibility for the expense of disposing of this carcase.

Email her tonight asking for help mentioning newspapers if it is not dealt with asap.

Ditto this and I wouldnt call them - I would email them all together so you have it in writing that they have not responded.

i live locally yet didn't know about this! i do however know who would possibly own said horse as there is a traveller site next door. Sad state of affairs that no one is willing to do anything about this though. If you need any help at all pm me and i will do all i can

Thankyou again for all your help, Thankyou Cuffey i have just emailed our Mp, Also thankyou Pipstar i really hope they contact you. And Also Thankyou Sophie, I was thinking the same but its before his field and the water flow's up passed his horses, It may well still be theres or been pushed up by the water and now rests against the metal sides. There are alot of horses around our area in fields by his river.

Thankyou So much, I did email the ET Just after i phoned the rspca yesterday at 11.10 am, And not heard a thing.
