I'm looking for a 4/5yo potential comp horse. Mainly SJ but possibly a bit of eventing.
Anyone recommend any dealers/producers within 3 hours of northampton?
Thanks

If you'd consider a green, rough around the edges, irish type then irish horse imports in Reading might be worth a look. Go when they have a new shipment in, be prepared for rough and ready, but 4K will buy you something from there that can jump, although you will pick up something for less if required

Have Pm'd you

Do you want broken or unbroken?

I got my lovely mare from Simon Davies in Bucks (I am geographically challenged so don't know if that is close enough?

), he has mostly Dutch imports in. Mine was quite reasonably priced (I'm told) and a fair few from him have turned up in BYEH classes. They are mostly unbroken though.

www.sdsporthorses.com but may be worth giving him a call as he often has stuff that's not on the website.

We to had a horse from ESH usually has a yard full of youngsters over from Holland. Look at the passport if you know anything about bloodlines we found a good mare jumping British Novice double clears hoping to event this season.

Ran Arbell, Worcestershire, has smart Dutch horses - vary from pleasant to gorgeous

He's sharp, though, and knows their worth...

I personally think you pay a good few grand for the name buying from Vere - plus he's done a lot of the legwork that you can save money by doing yourself, same would apply to Tim and Antonia Brown although they have some gorgeous horses in.

Do not go to Nicolette GW had a very unpleasant experience with her when decided not to buy one of her horses after vetting. Second Table Dancer a horse Vere sold was on the England Team at the end of the day it is going to come down to budget.

Definately John Whinnet, nice guy and if he hasn't got what your looking for give him a shoppping list and he will find something that will tick most if not all boxes!

Ditto this! Jazz came from them, although tbf she was at the top end of what he imported, worth giving him a call to see what he has brought over, I rang several times before he let me come and see some, as he didnt have anything smart enough in

steve gittens just past stow on the wold. nice horses all do the job and jump. not the cheapest but very good quality stamps of horses, mainly irish.

I have seen loads sold by Tim Warren. They are all super horses and are doing things at all levels. I would go to look for my next one from him. They are not push button but they really operate.

dammit I have two lovely 3yos!!! but I don't suppose that helps at all! lol Do yotu have a rough price range you are looking at as I do know of someone who has a couple which are 4/5 backed and one has been to a couple of events. Being produced for eventing but would be versatile. PM me if you would like more details :-)
