Hi, I am new just a quick question, I have a horse that I am going to sell can anyone recommend a good dealer in devon and cornwall who would poss part exchange. Apologies If I have not done his correctly!!:D

Not sure of anyone who specifically p/exs. You could try Tregurtha Stud in Cornwall, they sometimes advertise horses for other people or maybe Mark Bosanko could be interested.

Just come across this as suddenly got to sell my daughters 14.2 due to her ill health and too good a pony to not be out playing. Any suggestions on good options or ones to avoid?

You should be able to sell a good 14.2 privately, selling to a dealer will usually mean taking a very low price, if you don't want the hassle a sales livery may be the best option but I would try an advert first, it is school holidays at the moment so people will be looking more actively.

Agree that you will probably get more money if you sell privately but it may take more time and you will have to deal with potential buyers, good and bad, yourself. Where abouts in Devon are you? If you are in the South then it may be worth contacting a few of the good equestrian centres such as Cheston Farm, to see if any of their pony club members are looking for a new horse. Your local RC will likely have a facebook page too. If you are north, then Liz Bradborn is on borders with Dorset now, not sure if she is still dealing horses but she was always really good and honest both buying and selling.
